Will Illinois try to bully PSU?

I think they will - on both offense and defense.

On offense - will be interesting to see if Bielema uses the heavy sets and unbalanced formations he used so successfully in the 9 ot debacle when we couldn’t stop the run. Also, Altmyer is going to test our safety’s with Winston out

On defense - this will be an interesting battle. Somehow Illinois seems to always have good defensive lineman. This will be a good test for PSU’s young developing line. And Kotelnicki has shown a willingness to establish the run. Passing success will be important for PSU

Other thoughts????

Can someone explain why Chase Meyer is not our starting kicker?

If stats are close in practice then shouldnt the kicker that is a million times more proven in actual games get the nod?

Other games thread - 9/28

Indiana outraces Lockley's Terps in 4th to win handily 42-28. I had not watched either team but I was impressed with Indiana. They have some solid offensive talent and well-coached. Cignetti might be real deal but time will tell. Schiano (with former Gopher QB) seems to be solid team beating Huskies. IU, RU, IL all undefeated. Is this most balanced year in BT?

I really came to track UW vs USC. USC is trash right now. 21-10 Badgers. They are brutalizing USC's DL. Does not help that Bear is not playing. I think USC is learning that playing a BT team as a one-off or with a month to prepare on your home turf (Rose Bowl) is a little different than having to play BT beef every week.

Presidents cup starts today

We were laughing about how many great Kent State players there were in the nfl. Well, the golfers participating played golf at Kent State. Golf channel did a segment on this. Crazy really.

Not far from Kent is a nice public course named windmill lakes. The golf pro there was Herb Page. He became coach of Kent and recruited a bunch of players from Canada. Herb grew up there.

Side note, I won a silent raffle when I first started golfing back in the 1980s for golf lessons. I had six lessons all from Herb from when I lived in Ravenna Ohio. That’s all the lessons I ever took. (I suck but can play business golf, well enough to lose but not be embarrassed)

Apparently, the three Kent golfers sent a jet for him so he could attend the tournament this week.
