So what would you think if the Captain

ordered everyone off the plane, then boarded the four crew and got outa Dodge?
One person choose to put everyone else on the plane at risk of making their flight. He got chosen to be removed and was no better than the three who got off when they were chosen. Sorry about his luck but one plane load of folks going to Louisville and one planeload going out from Louisville were at risk because of his childish behavior. If it was his time and his bad luck he needed to suck it up and be an adult.
My opinion only.
The cops could have done better but his actions were just as responsible.

Who wants to play the Penn State Investigation edition of Jeopardy?

Veteran federal investigator who has voluntarily responded to informed questions about his work.

  • Who is Louis Freeh

  • Who is John Snedden

Results are only viewable after voting.

Of course we all do. So let's get to it!

And the answer is:

This veteran federal employee personally conducted an independent & thorough investigation of the Sandusky incident at Penn State for a disinterested, third-party client which was documented in a lengthy report. He later voluntarily responded to informed questions about both the investigation & the report, and those responses are readily available in the public domain.

OT: Looking for input on trout fishing in greater Yellowstone/Grand Teton area

My wife and I are planning a week long vacation with a couple of days spent in various spots around Yellowstone NP and the Grand Tetons. The potential areas are Bozeman/Livingston and Red Lodge Montana, Jackson/West Tetons and Cody/East Yellowstone Wyoming. I would like to spend a half day fly fishing somewhere, but I would like to have a guide (casting coach LOL) to help increase my chance of success.

My priorities would be wow type experience first, followed by success of landing a fish. It would be great if this could happen near a town where my wife could spend the time shopping. Right now the dates and locations are pretty open. Do any of you have any recommendations for a specific guide/river/town that I could check into?

In honor of Cliffie's birthday today ..... what is your favorite sitcom of all time?

I didn't reach back as far as The Honeymooners, Dick Van Dyke or Gilligan's Island since I never watched those shows in real time. The first sitcom I ever remember watching "live" was The Mary Tyler Moore show. I also limited it to network TV and no animated shows.

My top ten in no order ..............

Hey guys!

I was just accepted into Penn State Graduate school! I am very excited and ready to devote my heart to Penn State! I can't wait to get to university park and attend the Pitt game. I am going to need some help from all of you. I want to dive into the culture of Penn State and find out who WE really ARE. I have a ton of questions! Coach Franklin even DMd me a "congrats" I am excited to dive into this upcoming season! Teach me how to be a Lion!

1. Who is our Rival?

-Why are they our Rival?

-What is our overall record?

-Any great rival moments?

2. What are traditions on and off the football field we should be aware of? (Going to Pitt game)

3. Who is our all time best player?

4. Who is our most successful player (Professional career in NFL)

5. What are our expected record or post season status every year?

6. Do we have national championships? How many? when was the last one?

7. Most famous alumni (Non sports related)

8. Are there any other sports that I should watch out for?

9. Any one I should follow on twitter to get good coverage of the Penn State sports?

10. Why do you love Penn state?

I hope I get some responses as I am eager to be one in the community and cheer on the football team :)

sincerely

A lion in Idaho.

After 5 years, I'm still trying to understand why so much money and effort was spilled to focus attention on the PSU CSS. Who is being protected at the state level? Why? Is Greg Bucceroni telling the truth? Curious what others think.

OT: Saying goodbye to family pet

Sorry for blubbering to everyone, but I find this board can be very therapeutic at times like this. November 2003 we went to look at miniature schnauzer puppies to get a family pet. There were two left in the litter ... a black one and salt/pepper one. We decided to get the black one since he was a little cuter and a little friendlier. We knew we wanted to name him Nittany. Then my wife gets all emotional and doesn't want to leave the salt/pepper all by himself and talks me into getting both. Driving home with both dogs we struggled to come up with a name for the other until finally settling on one.

His health rapidly declined the last few days and spent last night in the hospital after getting a lot of fluid drained from his chest cavity. The prognosis is not good as the fluid came back quickly and we have made the difficult decision to euthanize. My younger daughter wants to drive back from Altoona where she is a freshman to say goodbye in person. My older daughter is in Boston and will have to Face Time with the family later this afternoon as we say our final goodbye to JoePa.

These are the first dogs I have owned (parents were cat people) and wanted to know if I am being stupid for crying like a baby? I never thought it would be this difficult.

OT: Wife and I disagree with mattress preferences

I believe that a mutual good nights sleep is one of the must haves for marital bliss, and the situation is not so great these days.

My wife was complaining about not sleeping well... she typically doesn't sleep all that well, but this was worse or a "special cause" (to use quality control vernacular) that she attributed it to the mattress. When we bought our mattress 5 years ago we went with one that was somehow asymmetrical relative to the top and bottom. I forget why it is this way, but this means that we can rotate the mattress, but not flip it. I rotated the mattress and that didn't resolve it. My wife wanted to get a mattress topper, but I do not like super soft mattresses. She got one to try and last night I had the worst night sleep in a while. The mattress was hot and I woke up with a sore back and hip.

I'm looking for advice on how to handle. I think there are foam mattress pads that only cover half a bed, this is least expensive option, I guess. A new mattress might also be a solution, but it seems early (only 5 years). If going for a new mattress, do they make traditional mattresses with one side softer than the other? I thought about the sleep number beds, but I think they are expensive. Are they worth it?
