On streaming TV content

I"ve been watching "The Bear" due to the high number of Emmy nominations. First, I thought it was "cocaine bear". Nope. Then I thought it was a show about a sandwich shop. Kinda but no.

while the first season dragged a little the second and third seasons are as good as any TV I've watched. It kind of reminds me of Schitt's Creek. It is really about families and people. The setup is that a guy named Carmy comes back to Chicago to take over a sandwich shop that his brother owned. Carmy left Chicago to find himself and is one of the top chefs in the world. When he gets back, he finds his family-run sandwich shop is a complete dumpster fire and sets out to make this ragtag group of family members and low-level employees a profitable endeavor.

Each episode is about what is happening behind the scenes in each person's life. it is about their past and their struggles. The backdrop is some incredible information about high-end food preparation, the work to make a restaurant tick, and some really fantastic direction (music, photography, acting). It is funny, compelling, frustrating, funny and emotional. Most of all, it is educational. While I kind of knew about the challenges of food preparation, I had no idea of the art, dedication, and creativity that goes into it. Must see TV if you are a foodie, at all (I am not, I am a meat and potatoes person).

It is on Hulu as content that they produced and directed (meaning, it is exclusive right now).

Franklin on the hot seat

PSU has never made the college football playoffs. This year we have quite a few 4/5star players form the 6th ranked 2022 class who are likely in their last year (Carter, Sutton, Allar, Singleton, Allen). 2 1/2 years ago Franklin was given a huge 10 year contract. Now the administration has committed $700 million to upgrade Beaver Stadium and tens of millions more to upgrade other facilities. It will very difficult for the administration to sit still if PSU misses the playoffs this year given that next year is likely a rebuilding year and this year's in state recruiting has suffered. The issue of interfering with medical personnel could also be a factor.

I've seen articles that say Franklin isn't on the hot seat but I have to wonder if that's true.

any thoughts?

This is the type of content that we should expect IMO

Film Study - Tengwall on potential starters at OT

OFFENSIVE TACKLE FILM STUDY

See link. Shelton, Williams, Rucci, Donkoh. Surprised to learn Penn State has only had to replace both starting OTs who were good enough to get drafted once prior in program history. And, honestly, as much talk as there has been about Kotelnicki's scheme "curing" the passing attack, explosivity in the run game, etc., we'll know the guy is a true genius if he can design concepts that aid/assist our relatively green o-line. Lastly, Shelton scares the hell out of me (and not in a good way) as a pass protector.
