2018 Senior World Cup

is that Duroe next to JB and Jackson? If so, any word how he is doing these days?

Yes it is. Saw him the other day and he is doing ok. Big difference from when I saw him at Trials sadly. However, when we were all BSing on the bleachers, Mike was punching the padded pillars by himself, in his own world...slow jabs with his head against the pillar. Wish I had got a pic of it. Man is a fighter.

he and others in that situation by their example of strength in the face of tragedy demonstrate the best of the human condition.

I am probably going to hit practice on Monday or Tuesday morning. I think that's when the live goes will be the best as they will start tapering down the rest of the week I imagine. Think media day is on Tuesday so you guys should get some interviews online from it. So far, no Streibler or Snyder. I imagine they'll be here tomorrow or Monday.

Man, I was way off on what this senior wrestling thread was about.

Reminds me of that goofy bastard John DuPont.

Jarring to see DT in a black and gold room. Enjoyed the footage of Frank and Burroughs, the long awaited rematch of the 2005 NJ state finals. Wasn't clear who Dake was paired with.

And how large does a sack of stones need to be to wear a Nike shirt with your own name on it. Terry just jumped up my favorite coaches list. Seriously.
With the boom of Nike investing in wrestling (or collegiate athletics in general) are we (or I) wrong or unfair to ask for Nike to pay wrestling reparations before we hop on-board?

I read plenty of information regarding Oregon and the loss of their program. Perhaps I read all subjective texts, but it feels like Phil Knight found a way out and got wrestling cut in lieu of baseball (a revenue wasteland). For that to happen at Nike U, but everyone to get on the Nike train in wrestling seems like we're feeding a hand that slapped us.

I get that colleges have little choice. I was surprised by Iowa going the Nike singlet route. They're signing RTC's. USA did their deal with them.

Am I being unfair or entitled by feeling slighted for the sport? Should we demand more? Is Nike investing into the sport enough to pay back for Oregon's loss?

Board thoughts?

I'm a little confused now. Seems like Terry is cozy with the devil. As is our team, obviously.;)

If you have the Olympic Channel you can watch the US vs India and Georgia matches on Saturday and Sunday. The US vs Japan will be televised on NBCS on Saturday and the Gold Medal match will also be televised on NBCS.

Awesome!

This is great. I find it so annoying that after paying decent money to watch an event on Track, you then have to give 2/3 of your screen for ads. Glad NBC bought them, though!

What channel is the Olympic channel for direct tv? I’m having a hard time locating...

It's also 591 on FIOS.

Really happy about being able to watch (and tape) this on TV. Too bad the Russians and Iranians won't be there, though the Russians usually don't take this seriously anyway.

I actually think that it's Tom wearing the "Terry" shirt, though I could be wrong. The picture is a little fuzzy, and I usually tell them apart by the rocking that Terry does.

What, no World Cup thread action?

US India

Gilman gets a forfeit at 57kg

Joe Colon comes back from a 4-0 deficit to win 6-4, all Colon's points coming in the second period, two off a nice gut.

Stieber spots Sharvan 2 before getting the tech off a trapped arm. 12-2. US rolling.

It's not as if India was going to beat the US anyway, but NBC did say that they'd only arrived yesterday, which was probably not a good plan.
