2018 Senior World Cup

James Green up 9-0 after one, off a feet to back blast double. Pushout ends it, and there's the tech. US going to free up my day if these techs keep coming.

JB v Vinod Kumar, U-23 world runner-up. Second blood time for JB, appears to be his nose.

This JB match feels like the last 3 minutes of every basketball game. Whistles, multiple cautions. Gets the tech though, 11-1.

JB with the 11-1 tech. I don't think I've ever said this before, but that push out at the end was awesome.

Dake impresses with a 5 point move off the whistle, pushout, TD to lace, and it's over. Neither broke a sweat.

DT v Kumar, DT effortlessly gets to an ankle, does some stuff, two turns with an arm bar in and that's a :59 tech. US like a hot knife through butter here.

Hayden Zillmer, NDSU AA a few years ago and mostly Greco these days, up 5-0 at 92kg over Punia.

Got distracted but Zillmer won 7-0, followed by a Snyder 10-0 tech.

Dom Bradley instead of Gwiz faces Pushpender to finish this massacre.

And in a good surprise beer from Gable Garden is allowed back into the arena. Should be selling koozies though.
serious question....can you explain what gable garden is and why it was previously not allowed??

Bo is listed at 86kg, so if he goes it'll be instead of DT, not Dake.
Ah, my bad for believing something written by TR Foley.

And to be fair, Dake is an electric freestyler, especially when he doesn't respect his opponent.

massacre....i think it was 87-7 in scored points....awful showing by india.

They opened up a private lounge in the arena and put an outdoor area for food and beer vendors. The university pretends to disassociate themselves from the alcohol culture. I wasn't surprised they were selling it outside but I was that they allowed it back into the arena.

I think our team is pretty good too.
Yeah, this is an incredible US team top to bottom, but when Dom Bradley is getting 10-0 techs It think it's probably more a reflection of India being very unprepared to face that US team.

How do you say “I came, I saw, I got conquered” in Indianese? :)
It was posted that India's first team/best wrestlers were already in another country preparing for a tournament when this opening became available, so this lineup was pretty much their backups.

“Gable’s Garden” – an expanded outdoor food, beverage, and entertainment garden, will be open from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm both days. It will include live music, a variety of food vendors, non-alcoholic beverages, beer, and wine.

It's Hindi. And according to Google, would be..."main aya, mainne dekha, mujhe vijay mili".

This from Wikipedia:
“The Constitution of India designates the official language of the Government of India as Hindi written in the Devanagari script, as well as English.” ;)

Cool! If they are fellow Englishers, then they'll have no problem with Latin:

Veni. Vidi. Me vicit.

True dat, but according to google translate you’d want to change “vicit” (I conquered) to “et omnia vicit” (I got conquered). :D

In law school tryouts for moot court our case involved whether a drunk driving death caused by an immigrant-from-childhood from Uganda was a 'violent crime' for the sake of determining whether to deport. I was assigned the prosecution side and one of the moot court judges asked me about the implications of sending someone who had been in the US his entire life back to Uganda, "where he didn't speak the language."

"Well, your honor," I pounced, "We don't see that as a problem since the official language of Uganda is English." I didn't make moot court.
