LOL. Iowa has 7 guys in the semis. Their 3 losses in the quarters were all mild upsets at most, and those 3 should do well on the backside. Iowa is maybe one semi finalist shy of where a lot of people expected them to be.
Yes. 10 allocation spots. If Verk beats Purinton in next match, he qualifies. If Purinton wins, the four losers of that consi round will wrestle in a 4-man bracket. Win your first match in the 4-man bracket and you qualify. So Verk needs to win one of his next two matches.
I think Verkleeren would be a a pretty good position to get an at-large if he cannot get one of the 10 spots.

Will there be a round of consolations before the semis, or will they start simultaneously?
They start w a full round of wrestlebacks first.
Q - when semis kick off, do they hold semi matches to make sure they’re in synch ? Or let them run through.

I believe they hold the semis to stay in synch for semis, but not for the consolation matches around them.

Lovett’s length creates difficulty for a lot of guys. Wasn’t that surprised it was a close match, though didn’t expect a 1-0 score.

Bummer. He had his chances. Just couldn't finish. I don't see the 9th place bracket in Floarena but with 8 allocations, I would think there would be a 9th place that he could wrestle for and hope for the best for the wildcard allocation.
