Just spitballing here but some reason if you went up to DT and said this not sure the reaction would be a high five. To be they are both the same
Why let a superstar wrestle from his strongest position for most of 6 min? Yeah yeah he's one of the best in the world, but David played to Yaz's strength the whole match and the result speaks for itself.
We were out game-planned this time.
The missed trip certainly changed the whole complexion of the match, very unfortunate. If David had completedit, like he does 999 out of 1000 times from that position,....

Definitely a great international rivalry. DT usually finishes those takedowns in the second and credit to Yaz on his defense.
If DT finishes that single leg, it's potentially a different match.
But all credit to Yazdani. He had a winning strategy and implemented it.
He's the strongest and most powerful guy at the weight, but DT has a wider range of skills: many different offensive attacks, great scrambling, and a gas tank second to none.

Yazdani is a beast and beating him four in a row was going to be a tall order. Seems like a really good dude too.
You must feel good for the Iranians. They are great wrestling fans and good sports!
Sounds like the board view Iranian fans more favorably than Hawkeye fans
He doesn't seem to have that second ( or third) gear that DT, JB and Gilman have right now. Is it gone for good? Time will tell. Not optimistic

It's safer in Tehran than cornfield USA. Per the same dude who contends the USA can not be successful in world freestyle competition while wrestling folkstyle.

The clock on the screen had about a second delay to the actual mat clock, per the commentators. On review the mat clock had actually expired just prior to the step out.

Iranians had outstanding game plans vs both DT & Snyder to tie them up, slow them down and never let them get to their shots.

This why i dislike freestyle, referee can basically decide the winner. Passivity is a joke, and i do not care what the rules say. Thankfully Snyder got a bit lucky at the very end and got the win, but how boring to watch a guy just stand there for all six minutes and not try to get to one leg attack or try and score an offensive point is boring.
The Hemmer/Pinki w-55 semi final was outstanding! And pulls Burkert back in.
