I know you’re being funny. But I was replying to a post that said what did Burkhart care if he lost by 14 or by TF. And my response is that if I was outclassed, which I admit I was on occasion, avoiding the fall was priority #1 and avoiding the TF was priority #2 and it did matter and I did care.The guy who kicks the field goal trailing 42-0 in the 4th quarter.
Nice of NCAA to invite high school kids to compete at nationals.

Spot on , they care. It is about having pride and not giving up no matter how outclassed you are. I think it's great and love to see guys fight to not get pinned or give up the tech fall

4 Kerk vs 29 B Metz (NDSU)
Single leg and quick finish by Kerk. 2-0. Chooses to ride. Has Metz flat. Metz sit out almost reverses Kerk but Kerk re-sits like you learned in jr high and stats on top. Continues to ride; RT at 1:30 and counting. Now 2 mins. Nothing happening. Kerk put to side trying to pry out Metz’s arm. Metz flat the whole time. 2-0 after one with 2:41 RT.
Metz chooses bottom. Flattened out. Kerk might need to stop this ride before this thread explodes. Metz warned for stalling. Still riding with 1 min to go. Gets 4 points in a tilt and then a half and the fall! 2 more bonus!

Another one who thinks stalling is "fighting."
Dude gets ridden forever in the first and takes bottom, real solid strategy there.
Not sure if there was a directive to not call stalling on bottom but there have been a lot of dead fish down there

That's what Gable Steveson did and what Nick Lee did. It worked for Steveson and not Lee. Several on here called him dumb for the strategy. Guess hindsight truly is 20/20

I agree refs should call stalling. First there needs to be an understanding of stalling.
Of course. As soon as one our guys get called we will be in collective meltdown.
