My thoughts exactly. It seemed to me like Warner's gameplan was to scratch and claw his way to get a 3rd period rideout but that went out the window when Dean got a sneaky escape near the edge. Neither guy was committing to much, there was great handfighting but not a lot of openings. Warner didn't need to make a bad shot there. Credit to Dean for countering and getting the TD. I think rideouts would've favored Warner though

Dean made several shots through first 2 periods (not super deep) that Warner blocked and attempted counters off of, but Dean was clearly trying to get on his offense and took some attempts - Warner did NOTHING, made ZERO offensive attempts and clearly was attempting to shorten the match and conserve his energy because of his massive deficit to Dean's gas tank. Not sure what was so "tricky" about Dean's escape??? He stood right up, peeled Warner's hands off and stepped away when Warner tried to dive down on the "single leg / Hi-C" to maintain control. Warner was not able to ride Dean - plain & simple, nothing "tricky" about it. Warner got exactly what his strategy begot - he shortened it to a 1 minute match, he gave up the deciding takedown and he deserved no opportunity from Dean after that - let him eat his own non-wrestling bullshit stalling for the last 30 seconds. He deserved no other opportunity after the bullshit manner in which he wrestled the first 2 periods.

Reactions: The Kid Twist
I personally though DC was great on the mic both nights. I think he was wrong on the Dean stall call as Warner put his hand on the mat twice. But whatever. He was fun, enthusiastic and knowledgeable

and he gave kudos multiple times to Penn state and Cael

Lol calm down, I meant "sneaky" escape because watching it live, it seemed like Warner thought the action was going out of bounds and then Dean slipped out anyway. It broke Warner's strategy.

I'm not saying Warner deserved to win, Dean definitely did. Quit taking offense and finding things to fight about and just enjoy the victory(ies) lol

PROPS to Dean. Considering that when they stepped on the mat Max was outweighed by 15 lbs. minimum.....that was an awesome performance. He was deservedly thrilled afterwards. Awesome 5/5

I had the matches on tape and it stopped at .50 seconds of the Gable Match :( I assume he won. Did he do a back-flip? Where can I watch it? THX

Same here. DC was great and hope they have him back next year

Haven’t run the numbers but if true it’s just crazy. This was a quote I just saw over on HR

“Stop and let this sink in… We could’ve had Suriano at 125 instead of DA, Yianni at 149 instead of Murin and Steveson at HWT instead of big Tony….

And we still would not have won the team title.”

Where were we on criteria? Did we win the finals as a team?

I'm not a Warner fan by any stretch but the kid earned his spot in the finals. He had a great tournament no doubt. Reminds me of Bartlett if they let it fly they could really do some damage they just don't

JHC, can't wait to see Carter next year when he's healthy ;)

I'm glad Carter threw shade on the way Lewis wrestled (constantly backing up and wrestling the edge). Just absurd that Lewis was only dinged for 1 "stall warning" and no penalty points after wrestling like that for almost 8 minutes of Neutral wrestling including the 2 minute SV1 - just absurd the way most Folk matches are called and this type of bullshit Neutral wrestling is permitted to go on for some 8 minutes without penalty points! It's terrible for the sport and is not "wrestling" as defined in rulebook.
