Yes. Wrestled with NLWC for a year, but never signed... then most likely realized he wasn’t beating either of his brothers at heavy, so enrolled at Fresno.

that's partially correct -- the part about being with the NLWC is accurate. The other part isn't quite correct. AJ wrestled 195 his senior year in high school, and the expectation was that he'd be in the mix for 197 at PSU. Unfortunately, he grew a bit while at PSU. Once it was clear that he was no longer going to be able to make 197, the dynamics of the situation changed. Nick was already at 285, and had 2 years of eligibility remaining, and PSU was also recruiting Seth.

I thought I read the reason Beard had not signed and returned his was because he was deferring enrollment and did not want to start his clock.
Signing a LOI has no effect on your clock and does not limit an athlete from deferring enrollment. TBH, I heard another reason he did not sign his LOI originally, although it looks like that may have changed but I have no idea if it was true or not in the first place.

Thanks. I learned something. I was under the impression a LOI started your clock beginning the next fall.

Actually being enrolled as a full timer after the 1st day of class is what starts the clock

Someone asked me this and I was not sure of the answer.

How often do Verk and Berge go in practice? Has one been getting the better of the exchanges?
