B1G Tournament Session 2 Thread

If Suriano gets back healthy, we wrap up NCAAs by Friday night. That said, I don't think he will be given his appearance yesterday. That said again, we can win without him as well, but it will be a dogfight of course with both OSUs. The score will likely tighten today and we will look back on our diminished bonus opportunities due to our extra byes.

Or I'm totally wrong and we get swamped today. But that hasn't been a hallmark of Sanderson teams - they roar back after a bad round.
Hold on to this thought.

If OSU's 6 finalists don't win they are through scoring. As I see it they 50/50 at best in every match except HWT.

Bo, VJ, Cutch and Nevills each have 2 matches left, Jimmy one ... bonus points are always possible. By the time Hall and BoJo walk off the mat PSU could have the lead.

If OSU goes 3-3 they win. If they win 2, we have a chance.

Because we might lose this tournament? A nothing team tournament? Say that to yourself. You are questioning a decision made in January because of one data point in March at a meaningless tournament team wise. Does that sound like sound judgment to you?
Yeah...no.....I was being sarcastic. I don't question anything Cael does. But trust me, if PSU doesn't win Nationals you're going to be hearing it.

you can count on one hand who you'll hear it from. outside of that handful it will be appreciation for a great season, marred by injuries and other teams rising to the occasion.

what would a message board be without the Spy v Spy dynamic.

Saw some excellent wrestling yesterday. I'll give tOSU credit...great tournament so far. Coach won't be going all crazy with his message to the kids...it'll be the same message as if we were ahead.

We have as good a shot at NCAA's as anyone. Start inserting the guys from other conferences into the bigger brackets changes all the dynamics...so making a judgment on "the PRIZE", based solely on B1G results is not worth the exercise imo.
WE still ARE!!

To me, whether tOSU wins the Big Tens has almost zero relevance to the National Title probabilities.

Almost everything has gone their way. The likelihood of that recurring in St. Louis is very low.

Did I see a thread yesterday that called you the voice of reason? No couldn't have been.
Pretty sure JT was not saying that if PSU fails to win the NCAA championship we would be "HEARING IT" from him. Just that he is predicting (accurately IMO) that there will be many climbing onto the bitch bandwagon.

Agree. Was very surprised that Suriano appears to be still gimpy almost 2 weeks after the sprain occurred. That was kind of alarming.
I fail to understand the bewilderment at Nick still being hobbled.
1 year ago Gulibon hurt his in the NLO and never really got past it.
Bubba hurt his (I do not remember exactly how long between injury and nationals) ankle during the season and lost his first 2 at nationals.
He (Nick) injured it 2 weeks ago. Severe sprains take a long time to heal. No matter the quality of rehab he will compete at nationals still recovering from the injury, and being less than perfect.

One more thing....
No idea how healthy NS will be in St Louis, but I'll predict right here....
PSU wins the title with or without points at 125.

You seem to be misconstruing my post.

It's no surprise at all that Suriano is not fully healed or that he did not wrestle at B1Gs; never said that. The surprise, at least to me, is that he is still limping. That surprise is based on several ankle sprains of my own, of various severity. Complete recovery took several weeks (as you state), and of course the ankle, if stressed, was prone to re-injury in that period. However, I was always able to walk without undue discomfort within 5 days or so. So, yeah, I find it concerning that Suriano is still gimpy almost 2 weeks after the sprain. It seems to indicate that the sprain is pretty severe, and that he may be further from fully healed at nationals than first hoped.

And the comparison to Gulibon is pretty much N/A IMO. I'll just leave at that.
