Lmao when an Ivy school gets dropped people assume grades. I don’t know his grades but he speaks and communicates better than most college coaches and senior level athletes. Not to mention, this kid most likely makes a decent chunk of change already as a 17yr old kid.

I hope we get him but make no mistake about it, there isn’t a program in the country who wouldn’t want him or try to recruit him, unless they felt they didn’t stand a chance.

I think his huge arm tattoo is a clear sign of intelligence.

You do know you're responding to a troll account, right?

I drove past the Cornell wrestling building yesterday thought it was an outhouse lmfao. Just kidding but it was really small
Several years ago, my wife and I were visiting wineries in the Finger Lakes. We went to Cornell and I wanted to see their wrestling facility. The wife was freaking out because I was wearing a PSU National Championship tee shirt and she wouldn’t go inside with me. Having no shame, I went inside without her. I was surprised how small the arena was, but it was a very nice facility.

Bo's statements are akin to a verbal contract. One every Wednesday......now Thursday. I believe he is legally obligated to give coal to some team this week. My bookie is refusing to pay me. I picked eight teams that would still be on his board after yesterday. They are still there. I want paid! Come on Bo......toss Iowa off. We know you want to :)

Rutgers is making a big play ($) for 3-4 Bishop kids. 1 M is magic number for Bo. Rutgers is Very Much in play for them.
Let it be written.

What makes u say this?? Where did u hear this from?
Santa burped it in his ear after too much eggnog. Why do people assume that elite kids are only after the short term NIL money? Heck, money really isn't that big a deal to most kids. They aren't thinking financial planning or savings or retirement. It's about attaining dreams.

If you don’t think money is a factor, you’re living in a dream world. There are very few entrepreneurs that are high school juniors making his kind of money. Sponsorships, camps, Cameo videos, merchandise, etc. Yes, he’s chasing dreams, but don’t think for one minute that big bags won’t come into play.

Money is always important, but you're thinking like an adult and assume kids think the same way. They do not. Everything I've heard about Bo is that he is looking for the right fit and not the most money.

He’s not thinking like a kid. He’s obviously mature for an 11th grader. He’s already marketing himself like a smart adult would do. Who’s to say what will be the “right fit” for Bo. Obviously, we think it’s PSU. I just don’t believe that a life changing bag won’t be a factor in his decision. Heck, our backup quarterback is reported to be getting $1.5M.

If not us, fine with Rutgers getting him and some other McCort kids. Better than the alternatives
Mostly agreed. The risk is if thsy land him and he lives up to expectations, then they could stop hemorrhaging NJ studs and upgrade their national recruiting.

OTOH, they pissed away Ashnault + Cruiseliner Nick. Kinda like how the Spencer Lee Effect nsver happened. (Or did it? Channeling my inner @johnstownsteel.)

Also, Goodale is never gonna compete with Cael for the elite recruits on a macro scale.

So at least bstter there than Stilly.

From a very knowledgeable person who knows one of the Bishop Mcort father's.
Also, Willie said over a month ago that he expected Rutgers to be a finalist.

Then look at their recent recruiting -- flipped both Magro and Gibson -- and they couldn't make their strategy any more obvious.

Have any of you guys been to New Brunswick or East Piscataway? If you're not a North Jersey native, it would seem like you're living in an alien land.

I remain a confused NIL skeptic. If I had $100 million I still wouldn't be thinking about paying some highschool kid 6-7 figures to play at my alma mater. All the while needing to consider it starts all over again next year, and the next year, and the next,... I love PSU and wrestling, but my mind still can't wrap around this concept for sports that lose money every year.

The only scenario that makes a little sense to my feeble brain is a business with a massive advertising budget to throw around (Nike & Phil Knight, Oregon) Granted I think he is now using his personal wealth with a few more zeros).

As for Bo and commanding $1 Mill? Whomever is writing that check should watch the movieo moneyball first.

Merry Christmas, and in the spirit of Christmas I encourage anyone with that kind of financial flexibility to focus on thinking of affecting more than one person with that kind of gift. No matter your faith or political affiliation there are oodles of fantastic charities doing great work for those in real need.

Completely agree. It has to flame out before too long. Think Jimmy G at PSU. 4 time PA state champ. Or Chance Marstellar. Both were top of the high school recruiting rankings. Would be in the big $$$$ category in todays world.

Both were very good wrestlers. Both had good but not great college careers. How many times is someone going to pay 6-7 figures and then not see Nat Champ results? Can’t see it happening consistently. Feels like a new trend that those who assume all that matters is recruiting rankings are gonna get burned by. And eventually stop putting hand in flame.

Bob seems comfortable giving out half million dollar bags left and right without any prayer of seeing the top of the podium.

Yes, he's marketing himself as a smart adult. And smart adults know that decisions are often about much more than just money. Money is a factor but there is positively, absolutely no way Bo is going to Rutgers. There isn't one additional thing about Rutgers that would attract Bo there. He's smarter than that.

A few takes on this. First Rutgers won’t get him, Bo already tech falled their greatest wrestler on all time while in HS. The statue and 40 ft mural of Ashnault won’t impress him.

Nil will be a factor but won’t be the biggest part or he would have signed at Iowa. I am sure Bobby offered a solid dollar figure.

His marketing and approach is changing wrestling. I could see colleges wanting him and paying top dollar, knowing they will get a huge return. I think every kid knows him. Heck he is the center fold in the $40 rudis magazine which is filled with pics of JB, Snyder and even Spencer Lee.

This weekend will be the first time I see him live at Powerade. I might even get an autograph, just kidding , no I am not

With the way Bo markets himself, he probably has as good if not a better deal than he would get most places in college. I don't see any of those deals going away when he graduates HS.
