Breaking news from Ohio State

I want minimally an apology from Emmett and Ray. 2. The NCAA to give us $60 million back 3. Delany to apologize and give us our bowl money while withholding OSU and MSU’s. 4. Any PSU BOT member involved apologize, those on the board resign immediately. 5.Name the field Joe Paterno Field 6. Put the f..king statue back 7.Have Stupid tattooed on their foreheads. That’s just for starters!

I actually don't care about any of that. The money, empty platitudes from hypocritical leeches, naming roads or stadiums, doesn't matter. That money's already been spent or pocketed. People quitting? They're just replaced by the same. Not only will none of it happen, it's a waste of time.

I want an Alumni Hall or an Alumni Park or something...something to recognize the dumbasses like us who had our school stolen from us by pirates who would steal flies from a blind spider. Something to reboot the narrative from our own people that we were the problem. That won't happen either but it's a nice fantasy.

I feel bad for the current Tosu students, who are helpless as they watch their campus burn down to the ground, even though they are partially responsible for what happened.

They should remember the victims and eat whatever big shit hoagie gets rammed down. Right? I mean, that's the recipe. Has anybody threatened their credit standing or accreditation yet?

Probably won’t happen, but worth pursuing. I love this kind of “outside the box” thinking. This is why I play in this sandbox!
I promise to buy a pitchfork and make a Molotov cocktail if you get any momentum going with this “initiative”! As a gesture of loyalty, I checked the notification e-mail box to ensure I’m on top of this moving forward. As always, I wish you success in your creative endeavors! ;)

It's that damn Penn State culture and Joe Paterno to blame--they never should have let them in the conference.

Meh, nothing bad going to happen to the football team. We are too elite for the NCAA or B1G to do anything to us. Had this been any other B1G team, I think we see some action taken. If this were scum or ped state, this becomes much bigger news.

Let this sink in...

Oh it's sunk in.

This came out in May, not November. Strike one. People have all summer to ignore it. No direct (coaching) tie to a team, strike two. No leaked graphic descriptions. Strike three. We're out.

Looking at one of duhO$U message boards, their fans don’t think this is much of an issue as there was only one not very long thread about the matter. They are more concerned about stockpiling 5* recruits.

They know their program is protected by the NCAA, B10 and the media.

So they don't care about the victims. Got it. Are they going to have to wear some particular color this fall to bear the brunt of their transgressions? I mean, some of them probably went to school there after all. Maybe a silent walk-out at the beginning of the game. That helped.

I think you missed the point completely. If you compare the four situations, one of them doesn’t look like the others. In 3 instances you have massive amounts of evidence and confessions of sexual abuse. In one you have literally none of either. On the contrary you have obvious lying accusers whose stories have been shredded and lying prosecutors, on tape no less coercing accusers. You have a guy with virtually no testicles and very low testosterone. The entire bulk of “evidence” that JS is a pedophile are 2 showers in public places years apart. Funny how in 30+ accusers there was never an accusation of a shower in his home. It could not be more obvious that JS is not a pedophile but rather a guy that grew up in the 50s who spent lots of time in the Y where this was common. In the end I think PSU got what it deserved for its continual refusal to defend itself against such blatant liars. Spanier is a prime example.

QUOTE="Obliviax, post: 4148033, member: 1414"]well, it goes to show what a problem this has been (historically) and continues to be today. Things were handled differently two decades ago...we can argue if this is right or wrong but it is fact. Secondly, these are very challenging institutional issues to deal with. We now have PSU, MSU, tOSU, USC and the Catholic church just off the top of my head. As with PSU, the "blame game" isn't working. Instead of vilinazing PSU, they should have used it as an opportunity to put into place tools to mitigate. This is what Clemente and Paternos tried to do but the media was having none of it.

The difference in these cases is the media coverage. The NCAA/BigTen reacted to the media in Penn State's case. As did our BOT.

The media made it about Paterno not about facts. It was never about the actual story just the best selling story.

They actually tried to get Izzo and Dantonio at MSU but it didnt stick because Michigan St actually stood up for their coaches and the sexy story died.

To some degree they tried to pin the OSU case on Jim Jordan but it quickly passed.

How anybody can believe the media from politics, sports or even the weather is beyond me. They simply dont care about telling the truth.

He sure did. So did Woody, Bruce, Cooper, Tressel, and Archie! Herby, too! Where is the outcry? Same as MSU. Just lock the President up in their multi million dollar mansion with an ankle bracelet. All good. Justice done. And Delany got how much for his bonus last year? And USC? Money talks.
You forgot Ed Ray who was 2nd in command and had been there for years. He had to have known. Oh the irony, Ray and Simon.

Don’t worry, we will be properly punished for OSU’s transgressions.

I hope so. The way we were punished in 2012, and with all the negativity shown towards Penn State since 2011, you would think we were best at these scandals. Despite our "leadership", it is disheartening to learn that not only did nothing happen at Penn State, it is troubling that our conference brethren are actually much better than us at these scandals. They have real scandals, while we're just frauds. At least sanction us to make us appear despicable.

I hate us. :(

Ray's defense will be he never read any reports which came across his desk. He's admitted he never read Freeh's opinion piece before PSU sanctions were imposed. He just went along with the outrage without any critical evaluation of "facts". As for OSU or MSU, Ray will say, "Reports? What reports? I haven't read anything."

I will never forget Ed Ray's grandstanding on that July day. He, along with Simon, were two of the biggest hypocritical assholes in all of this. And that is saying something, because there were many in that category. My hate for that man will never die.

Boy, Delaney will probably give a stirring speech at Big Ten media days, with tears in his eyes, about the terrible culture that existed at Ohio State to cover up the crimes of this monster.

Right?

Delany is scheduled to speak on campus in October. My guess is he'll be shielded from any questions regarding OSU or MSU.

I hope one of our alumni is there fully prepared with the multiple, specific critical comments he made about Penn State and not one f#cking word about MSU and OSU. Not many people are despicable enough for me to say I’d piss on their grave but he is one.

Some of duhO$U faithful are worried that the B10 commissioner job is going to be given to their cover-upper and protector-in-chief Gene Smith, so they will no longer have that direct connection to the NCAA office that has helped them avoid getting more severe or any penalties for their transgressions. They never suffered anything from Tattoo-gate other than a minimal slap on the wrist and got to go to their major bowl game. How about a 2 week old used car for half price - anybody can get that deal, right. The NCAA and B10 is so FOS when it comes to who they attack and who they leave alone. Just blatantly obvious double standard organizations that promulgated a major miscarriage of justice.
