Buckeyes v Big Red

Pletcher has very good defense. So tough to score on. Wish he would open up his offense but I guess that's what happens when you join the pin chain gang and practice positive infinity.

Yianni is an absolute Gumby. Then is able to turn a tenuous defensive position into offense ... uniquely talented.

You have to respect TOSU scheduling ASU, NCS, and Big Red out of conference matches. Beats watching Buffalo when they can't even bring their starters. Just sayin.
Say what? We wrestled both Nebraska, OSU, MI, and ASU......

Yanni also overpowered McKenna on a couple of occasions. He miscalculated I’m the edge to give up the 2 but wow....That was quite a match.

Before Tucker/Pletcher I said...if this match is anything other than 2-1 I would be surprised. Lol.

Teams don't do the scheduling. The B1G does. Thus why Iowa...

I was commenting about their out of conference schedule. Besides ASU and Cornell and NCS I believe tOSU also scheduled Missouri a couple of years ago. Not trying to rehash the 'Let's schedule Cornell' debate. But TOSU has had a tougher out of conference schedule than us, IMO.

Big Red = Cornell

Not Nebraska
No. Big Red is always Nebraska. I don't give a damn what they call themselves. Very few places touch the experience of Memorial Stadium. We're in the B1G. Ooc, we've never backed down from anyone. Hell, we can't even get Iowa to reciprocate. Cael is front and center going after teams to wrestle.

For those that watched, did McKenna keep his lungs or did he gas out like he did against Nick?
He looked pretty good. Surprised b/c there was a lot of action, lot of scrapping and scrambling. Mckenna had to defend his legs hard and got in on Yianni's legs but couldn't finish. Neither could ride for more than a few seconds.

He did have the entire dual to recover from weigh-ins but can't say if that had anything to do with his 7-minute endurance.

Thank you all. I was just wondering if he got his stamina corrected. It certainly is going to an interesting weight in March. Barring an injury or illness, I'll go with Yanni to win it again. But several others could be his opponent Saturday night. Hopefully Nick is on the opposite side of the bracket from Yanni.

Yianni is my favorite non-PSU wrestler. So talented and just an absolute winner. Seems like a great kid as well. Nick Lee has looked great this year but I don’t think he matches up well with Yianni. Nick can get to his legs but I’m not sure he can finish. I would love to see it though especially in the NCAA finals!

No gassing. Some may disagree, but I thought it was a good match. McKenna got to legs multiple times. Just couldn't finish because of Yianni's counters and flexibility. Yianni D. got called for stalling himself in the last 30 seconds as J. M. was in pursuit to tie things up.

Yes, wrestling Oklahoma St in the last dual of the year in those 2 years PSU competed in the NWCA's year end duals was much, much more enjoyable than wrestling Buffalo.

...Cornell is no match for a good Big 10 team but they are the best Ivy League team...
... consider they even lost to Lehigh this year and Lehigh is having a down year - partly due to the injury bug...
