Cornell making moves...

No Palacio, No Dean...Realbuto at 184 wins, Womack at 174 takes another L and Galasso is the Walking dead at 165 and is TF,

Big Red getting smoked by mizzou

If we were really paying attention, we would have known Cox didn't make the trip.

That explains Dean in street clothes both nights.

But...who knows. Perhaps Missouri figured the plan was to push up the lineup to match those two up....and...

Still grrrrrr

Do you want to know why Penn State, Iowa and Oklahoma State are the most popular teams for our sport? Because every time they wrestle, they put their best team on the mat. This Mizzou - Cornell dual is a joke and incredibly bad for the growth of wrestling?

Cornell v Missouri should be an amazing dual.

Shame on whoever decided to sit Dean & Cox if it was not injury related.

Don't forget Ohio State. Tom Ryan always puts his best team out there for duals and tournaments. He never holds a good guy out to protect a seed, or runs from a tough matchup. :D

According to a Missouri parent, they decided to rest Cox because "blah blah"

Dean and Palacio health related as it turns out. Macri is still hurt but may be back soon.

Galasso was out of his depth up two weights.

Original plan was to move wrestlers up starting at 157. Largely fell apart with Cox not showing and the Cornell pair hurt/sick

Isn't Koll one of the masterminds trying to make regular season duals more exciting? Work in progress I'm guessing.

Yes he is and his "work in progress" was derailed by not by him. He weighed in his kids as much as possible over their next week weight and still be able to return to it within the weight plan. He intended to create a better chance and winning the dual moving up the higher weights knowing the early weights were in question.

Cox didn't make the trip and like I said, according to parents of the coach....for a rest. Hmmm. Maybe they knew Koll's plan.

Dean is out and Palacio was out this am. He couldn't move the kids back down in one day.

So yes. His plan was defiantly to inject some extra excitement. Not his fault it didn't turn out that way. Know anyone else shifting half their lineup up a weight??

The last 2 seasons it's usually been mizzou no?

No I don't know many coaches shifting their lineups (and getting annihilated) , but that's not really the point. The point is, if Koll had his way, this "dual" if you want to call it that, would have had an impact on this season's NCAA tournament.

1) It seemed you were insulting him for trying to make regular season duals more exciting. You have shifted to a different point relating to NCAA.

He did attempt to do so. But, if you had your guy's up a weight and then lost your top two guys, it might be hard to not get annihilated. And remember he could not just move them back down to normal weight. Palacio wrestled last night and was out today, leaving few options.

Answer this: How is trying to get Dean on the mat with Cox NOT exciting?? (Twice now). Who would NOT pay to see that??

To your second point, the NCAA issue, I agree since I don't want any part of the individual tournament affected by a dual. But I am unclear how trying to win a dual and match up two studs is related to that issue.

The result didn't work, and weight descent rules have basicially eliminated the ability to create interesting matchups within a dual, but he at least put his money where his mouth is.
