Iowa @ Ohio State PBP, Results and Discussion Thread

The point is realistic in mind is 50 percent. Its not needing every single thing to break your way. In regards to Vodka he made his grave with his calling compliance offices. That was grade A over the top

Realistic is absolutely not 50% by default lol. Not everything needs to break Iowa's way for them to win the dual. They need to win one big upset, one perceptually (given current info) small upset, and avoid giving up bonus.

Personally when I use the term realistic, I'm thinking at least 5%. If they wrestle 20 times, it could happen at least once. That's large enough odds to be noteworthy. Purdue could wrestle PSU 1,000,000 times and they aren't beating them a single time. I think OSU wins the dual, but I can see the avenue for Iowa to win.

As far as compliance - let's see Flo reported that there is smoke regarding NCAA compliance/recruiting/cheating. They also said there are credible people and NCAA coaches who have made the claim off record. If you go back and read my post regarding compliance, you'll see I don't accuse any team of anything. I explicitly state numerous times that I'm not making any accusations and that I believe in innocent until proven guilty. I called compliance for educational understanding because the bylaw in question is incredibly vague. I wanted to hear how the compliance offices handle that bylaw. In addition, there was a prominent NCAA news article several years back also questioning the bylaw. Also, if you think it's delusional to think that cheating happens in NCAA sports, you're grossly unaware of history. Cheating violations are pervasive across NCAA sports, and those are only the cheating violations brought to light. There is a major conflict of interest and failure of oversight in how compliance is handled in the NCAA.

Let's also add in the fact that it was over half a year ago now that I called any compliance office yet some of you hold a lifetime grudge. You can ball bust me all you want for calling compliance, but some of you are hyper defensive for some reason.

Bringing my hips to the party a little late, but better than never...

Way to early in the morning on a Sunday for fighting! Let's all drink Bloody Mary's and relax..
I'm with Turk, nothing like a good Bloody Mary for your relaxation therapy. With respect to today's Iowa/tOSU match, I will watch with cold detached neutrality from my vacuum cocoon. Our match against the Turtles, well good luck Kerry, you're gonna need it.

The iowa beat down will be broadcast live on BTN at 3:30.

Dunke, I'm all for busting Vodkas stones, but he does make one valid point. If Wilcke knocks off Moore, will that be a massive upset? There have some on this board who haven't been super impressed with Moore, correct?

I'd think the Hawks winning is a really long shot, but certainly greater than 0 percent chance IMO.
That's what vodka and I have been saying. The chances Iowa wins today are greater than zero percent, so all we are saying is the Hawks have a realistic shot. Anything above zero chance is a valid, realistic possibility. Maybe even a probability. It's something like 83% certain Iowa does not win this dual, so in realistic terms it is pretty much a toss up.

Like Roar, I saw the page-count on this thread triple while I was away for a few hours -- except knowing that the dual was still 2 hours away, I had exactly one guess as to what caused the explosion.

I was right . . . and my guess wasn't spyker. A new milestone of sorts has just been achieved. Congrats, I guess? It's not easy to reach spyker-level infamy for absurdity.

Just curious as to what time will we know with which weight this meet will start. Hoping 125 so I can see that bout before tuning on the PSU meet.

5 percent of the time I 100 percent realistically think you're too invested. Get a hobby buddy.

Iowa has a better than lottery jackpot odds of winning this dual. I guess you can argue about the meaning of the word realistic.

You are mentally ill. You need to see a mental health professional.

Here's an idea: maybe someone can just start up another thread for the dual and entitle it specifically about results, or something to that effect?

Real nice job by Lee getting out of that single by NaTo. I don't think he's going to be able to get behind NaTo with that Russian though.

Wow, good strength by Spencer taking Nato back to the mat twice. Gets the RT advantage and the 2 minute ride out. Very impressive. Nato is no slouch.
