Some people think it's bad form to interview wrestlers when they just get off the mat beacause they're amped up and not particularly coherent. I guess that should include Tom Brands too.

I thought they may have gone out of bounds just prior to that sequence, but the refs didn't call that, they called OOB on the waved-off takedown. But Franek's knee was still clearly in bounds at that point. Maybe the clock ran out prior to the takedown?

Iowa is a joke.
Yeah - they really don’t look good. The two weights where they have returning AA’s and were heavily favored went to SV and an official’s review saying no TD loss at end of regulation.

Three stall calls against them in those two matches too and it should have been more. Can’t just sit in front headlock position like that.

Right, I do not believe the takedown could have been completed *with reaction time* before time ran out. Tan Tom would have a field day with a still picture though.

It’s 9-6 Iowa after five and Iowa St is favored in 4 of the last 5 weights.

Early TD Carr. 3-0. Made it look easy. Escape in 20 secs. 3-1. Stalling Caliendo. lol. 4th straight match with stalling on Iowa. 3-1 after one.

Carr takes bottom. Caution Carr. Escape in 10 secs. 11-3 Carr. 1:16 RT. Carr deep single. Finishes. Cuts him. 14-4. Stalling Caliendo. 15-4. Late TD? No call. 16-4 final.

two things…

1) when the clock goes from “0:01” to “0:00” there is still a full second before the buzzer goes off.
2) Franek should’ve been hit for stalling multiple times before getting hit after 6:53 of holding on and backing up, save the early takedown.
3) the difference between Gable and Sanderson- based on Gable’s interview- is HUGE! Give me Cael all day, every day.

But Iowa pushes the action, Iowa style.
