Although this is technically correct, it is a pet peeve of mine when people use a wrestlers grade class for praise when he is not age appropriate for the grade. Teasdale is within a few months of Spencer and on average older than 75 percent of the athletes in 11th grade. It is more accurate to say he is a great wrestler and savvy for a 17 and a half year old.
Before you Iowa posters say I'm only saying this because he committed to Iowa (and I'm sure there will be some PA posters that don't like this opinion as well), you're wrong. Šame applies to Mark Hall. He should be a freshman in college. And the cases are very similar as both hold backs were done to win more state titles. No other reason.
And they are still both great wrestlers. Just inaccurate to use the label "high school kid" or "sophomore" to heap more praise on them.
Again, just a pet peeve of mine. There have been a few really elite guys from my area who went out and competed at 90lbs freshman year with no shot to win a title. One was 85, didnt even make it to states and still ended up with multiple state titles and a D1 scholarship. Come to think of it, so did the others.
And i might be mild. There is one guy on our local forum who has adamantly refused to post Teasdales name for the past two years in posts because he states he won't do anything to publicize the kid. And others also. It's evolved into a joke of sorts "he who will not be named. " Now he is a bit over the top lol.
Summer birthday and you delay kindergarten or hold back early, OK. Repeat a grade because you are switching to an academically challenging school (i.e. private), OK. Repeating in 7th or 8th because you want 6 instead of 5, or 4 instead of 3 state titles, or 3 instead of 2 - I just don't understand it.
