Looking at who both teams have wrestled to date in 2024 - 2025 and the results they've obtained so far, in particular versus several common opponents, it appears PSU's starters could possibly hang 40+ on the poor Turtles, especially at Rec Hall, and maybe shut them out as well.

If something like that were to happen, i.e. PSU were to score a total of 80± team points over two consecutive duals while simultaneously allowing zero points defensively, am thinking it could well be a first -- even though it's a stat no one would likely ever bother to keep records on.

Still, it's extremely difficult to build a team good enough to even think about ever reaching that level of performance, much less to have a realistic shot at actually doing it on a given Sunday -- like the one coming up in a couple days.

Yes, I know the above line of thought runs directly contrary to the coaching philosophy of the head coach who built the team which now could possibly pull off such a feat, in particular if he chooses not to rest some starters for the following weekend in Columbus and Champaign. He, correctly, believes his wrestlers should focus not on team points but on individual-, match-to-match skills improvement, after which team points will naturally follow.

But, certainly, it's the undeniable, team-after-team, week-after-week, year-after-year improvement in those individual skills which ultimately provides curious fans, like this one from the Dark Ages who arrived in State College one year before a Head Coach named Bill Koll, the enjoyable opportunity to wonder about such obscure trivialities at all.

Hoping the coach and his wrestlers keep it up.
