Seems pretty simple. Have you shared the idea with the coaches. Bet they never would have thought of this.
I started this thread when I saw Tank in the portal. I thought he might be a good fit for what PSU may need. I'm sure if he was a Pa. native everyone would assume he would lean PSU. Perhaps he holds a grudge that OSU didn't offer him? But I don't think PSU did either.Which is why and "so what" comment should be responded to with a "duh".........
I'm not stupid enough to think I know more than a division one football coach. Only fanboys think they have a working philosophy or "plan." LOLIt is simple. Why haven't they done it?
The OL is stacked with 310+ lb players and we have 260LB DTs.
I like the staff but The reality is they have a few blind spots. They stress speed. They recruit speed. They ignored size on the DL until we needed it. When the have a good size player they move him up to utilize his speed but the player ends up being SMALL for the new position. They move S to LB but end up with a SMALL LB. They move LB to DE. DE to DT.
How is your plan working out?

Are there really fanboys stupid enough to think that PSU is the land of milk and honey and no other university can "rival" the Nittany Lions? Never mind. I know the answer.
We have no idea with Tank is looking for.
1. Cash
2. more reps
3. a masters degree in his field
4. lots of other possible preferences

Where are your games played? On your couch?
I know that any D1 coach forgets more football when he sleeps at night than you ever knew. Are you stupid enough to think ANY coach is never wrong about anything?
what if he forgets it all and I remember just one little thing? LOLI know that any D1 coach forgets more football when he sleeps at night than you ever knew.
For illustration purposes only.....LOLwhat if he forgets it all and I remember just one little thing? LOL
I always laugh when someone says "I forgot more than you know". That's not really good, is it?
About 20% of this board?!For illustration purposes only.....LOL
It certainly does amuse me when a fan says something like "why don't we just take a OT and make him a DT." Seriously? Who can be that dense to think that if that would upgrade the team, it wouldn't have been done long ago?

But you might have if you were at practice every day or if you saw what the coaches saw. It’s easy to couch coach after the fact. I seem to recall a ton of second guessing on this board about the recruitment of Journey Brown….too small, didn’t play anyone in high school, should go to a G5 level school, etc. This whole making decisions with hindsight works both ways, but only the coaches have their living depend on making the right decisions.Maybe true but they all make mistakes. I did not give Derek day 20 carries while zwinak was on the bench. I did not have a LB returning punts. I did not have saquon on the bench vs temple.
Allen Robinson too...But you might have if you were at practice every day or if you saw what the coaches saw. It’s easy to couch coach after the fact. Coaches who have made it to this level, yes, they have the stones because their livelihood depends on it. High school coaches or youth coaches don’t have the stones, but D-1 level coaches do.Maybe. Maybe the coaches would not have made the mistakes if they were not emotionally involved with the players. Do you think coaches ever get emotionally involved? Do you think coaches all have the stones to bench a loyal senior if an up and coming freshman outplays the senior?

OK look....I'm sure your local pop warner needs a coach.Maybe true but they all make mistakes. I did not give Derek day 20 carries while zwinak was on the bench. I did not have a LB returning punts. I did not have saquon on the bench vs temple.
Perhaps you are the fanboy who is too emotionally involved?Maybe. Maybe the coaches would not have made the mistakes if they were not emotionally involved with the players. Up to that point, maybe he did. Or maybe they didn’t feel Saquon was ready. Maybe he wasn’t picking up the play book fast enough. There must not have been too much loyalty or emotional involvement because Saquon was starting game 2.So Mark Allen outplayed Saquon???¿
