On a wrestling forum it would be common to refer to a head-to-head event as simply a "dual" (i.e., the upcoming Michigan-PSU dual.) or "match" (i.e., the upcoming Michigan-PSU match.), but I have never heard anyone refer to a head-to-head event as simply a "meet", the way you would refer to a track meet or swim meet. Context is everything in regards to this conversation.
