The Brands keep detailed notes as well.
Probably written in crayon.

I just heard on radio that Trump is going to Philadelphia.I think they said Saturday.
Allow extra time to get in.
He's traveling with Jim Jordan ( 2 time champ for Wisconsin )and Dave McCormick who they said wrestled for West Point. I never heard that.??

(Moderator edit - any off color responses and you'll be put in timeout for a few weeks)

I suspect the things you haven't heard or unaware of is extensive.

I am tempted to find out how far you have to go to get a timeout.

McCormick made his wrestling background part of his campaign. How wrestling made him self reliant and resilient, or something to that affect.

One thing not talked about, and maybe it's just a perception.

With Zain, Jason, Bo and Aaron in particular, I was near 100% confident in any match they would win. There seemed a clear gap between each and most of their closest competition.

With this team being likely the best ever, we have 6-9 'potential' finalists, but one could argue only MM is a next topic kind of guy.

Over the years we are seeing more references to Dodgeball, Fun, Faith, and simply focusing on getting better every day rather than winning or losing, from hangers outside of the program.

Could the field in aggregate be closing that gap a bit, leveraging those elements of Cael's mojo that are no longer secret? I think so. Then again Cael is always adapting, throwing new pages into the binder.

PS - call me in 2 years. I think LL, Blaze and Duke may all become next topic level kids :)

Starocci and Levi are on that same level, but the thing holding them back from being a "next topic" guy is that there are other generational talents in their class this year.

What were the fewest #1 seeds to win the NC and what year might it have been?

I ask this because this year has the potential to challenge the record. The way I see it 165 and 285 are the only weights with a heavy favorite. All the others have 3 or more nearly even contenders.

125 - 5 or 6 legit candidates
133 - same
141 - Beau, Mendez, Alirez, and Hardy
149 - Hanson, SVN, Lovett ... maybe Webster
157 - Kasak, Meyer ... maybe Cannon or Taylor
165 - Mitch ... longshot Caliendo
174 - Levi, O'Toole, Hamiti
184 - Star, Keckeisen, McEnelly
197 - Barr, Cardenas, Buchanon, AJ
285 - Steveson ... Greg with a fighter's chance

This is only since 1986:
> The lowest # of 1 seeds to win a championship is 3 in 2014 and 2021
>The lowest # of 1 & 2 seeds to win a championship is 5 in 2005, 2018, 2019 and 2024
>There has always been at least 3 one seeds that have not won championships every year since 1986
>Only 3 years (1988, 2013 and 2022) all 10 champions came from the 1st and 2nd seeds
