Nebraska dual thread - Jan. 17

It’s honestly hard to imagine any of these kids out the the lineup. They all have so much talent and drive. I think as we look back it will turn out that Facundo vs Kasak was one of the easier decisions in comparison of what is ahead.
Agree, though that makes the bar pretty low. Other than probably feeling bad for Facundo, there wasn’t even a little criteria that favored him.

Just read on the FRL headline that PSU faces a HUGE test this weekend.

Did we cancel the Nebraska dual? Did Ono bring his teammates over for a scrimmage?

Complete clowns.
Even if we win 40-0, it is actually almost as big of a test as we will face other than Iowa this season. It's really not a test of whether we can beat this team, it's a test of how dominant this team can be this year.

Nickals and Dimes with Carter revealed him asking Cael to wrestle in opens and Cael saying no. Carter wanted more matches.

If in review it turns out the Lions go 5 - 0 in the first 5 weights with 2 majors and 3, 7 point victories was it still a test?
If you compare it to the woeful effort Sparty trotted out last weekend, then yes it will be a test.

reading up on the Flo preview for the dual (paywall I think), they have us winning 9 or 10 matches. Also find it peculiar that they rank LLL #16 in the country but also #10 in the world 🤔🧐🤷‍♂️

Yes. That would mean we passed the test.

PSU lost 4 matches in last year's dual vs Nebraska, including Smith over Davis by MD ... Ridge beat Kasak ... Pinto took out Truax - and of course PA kid Van Dee beat Shunk.

The core of Nebraska is very experienced ... the match is in Lincoln ... Nebraska starting 12-3 at the break is a real scenario, just as much as us Nittany Lion fans thinking we could post a shutout.

12 hours and counting ... let's GO!

so did anyone read the Ryan interview on flo and his whining about refs him and manning whine more than the brands do I believe good and bad calls all come out pretty even in the end

If the results appear the way I suggested it will have been a test, but not as rigorous as expected.
Kind of like showing up to take a differential midterm and having the TA hand you a paper with 10 7th grade algebra questions.

I wish that had happened for me.

I think Van Ness vs Lovett is the match I'm most looking forward to. Lovett seems to thrive on counter offense/scrambling from neutral and throwing in double boots on top to grind out matches against elite guys.

If Van Ness can get to his legs, finish cleanly/quickly without getting caught in those funky scrambles and get out from bottom, I'll be impressed and I think he'll be in great shape for March (not that he isn't already).

Hot Take: Van Ness Majors Lovett. 125, 133, 141 and 157 will all be very competitive, low-scoring battles. OTOH, Van Ness makes a huge statement with multiple TDs and a barrage of offense that leaves Lovett shaking his head in bewilderment. Let’s say something like 13-3, 10-2.

WE ARE!!!
