Nebraska vs Iowa

Is Assad overranked at 10?
Not that I agree, but I have been told it isn't about how a freshman looks later on in the season, but rather if he looked overmatched early in the season. So I guess a solid win against Valez is less indicative than a bad loss early in the season to a lower division wrestler.
Assad looked good. Nebraska across the board through 84 hasn't looked conditioned well enough to wrestle Iowa kids.

I'm pretty certain that this official decided before the match not to call stalling. Particularly when Marinelli rode for about 4 minutes just hanging on and never attempting anything offensive. This rants over but I hope this clown doesn't get any of PSU meets.

Cassioppi, a big Iowa heavyweight that has an offensive shot. Two things to ponder. First, how in the heck did that happen. Second, how long will it take for Iowa's staff to beat that out of him?

Agree. Bald bull did nothing at all on top.

You have more faith than this Hawk fan. Warner is a head case. Talented, just weak between the ears.
He’s the same guy he was last year and finished as AA. Do you think he’s worse this year? I don’t think 197 is very deep so I’m not sweating it

I feel a little better about our chances against iowa! We will need some bonus points, but i think we could win 41 and 65-97.

I could only catch parts of the matches, but in all the close Iowa wins I felt like I was watching the Iowa of old who always, always out conditioned opponents and won the close ones late. Nebraska came to wrestle but winning close matches is important. I think we can hang with them but it will certainly depend on our lineup and how the bonus plays out. In other news, Kem doesn't look himself yet. I never saw him shoot when I watched.

We’ve been holding on against you for years.
You’ve been doing more than that. Penn St has been dominating. Now you lose Nolf and Nickal and then Cassar to injury. You have 3 hammers in Lee, Joseph, and Hall. 125 is the usual, no points in March. 149 and 157 are big question marks. Verkleeren hasn’t proven he can be an AA on the mat. If Berge doesn’t come back you’re getting 0 at 157. That could be 3 weights for a total of maybe 5-7 points. Explain to me how you are going to make that up when Iowa is highly likely to have Lee, DeSanto, Marinelli, and Kemerer all finish top 3. I know most of you assume Brooks is wrestling Zahid on Saturday night but I would wait to see more matches before assuming that. You all talk about Marinelli coming up short in March but assume Shak is going to return and finish top 3 or 4. He finished 7th in 2018 and went 2-2 last year. Nevills ceiling is AA, a lot less points than Cassar. Now I understand why all the rationalization of why Iowa is overranked.

That makes no sesne at all. True Freshman tend to improve as the year goes on. A win over Venz at this time shows significant improvement.

Hawk fan that sat in the 3rd row

Not happy.

DeSantos offense almost non existent

Murin got outclassed and shows no footwork or general offensive gameplan

Lugo and Young struggled with R16 type guys

Bull won ok but alot too do with White Gassing

Kem again looked physically weak for a 174lbs'er

Assad yay

Hats off too Eric Schultz but Warner sucked

Get this out of your system.... My theory that Brands brother and Morningstar not being good enough offensive stategists was in form tonight

Tonight left a window for Penn State

Don't forget, Spencer failed to score in the 3rd period AGAIN. This is becoming a major issue for him.

In reality, 26-6 over a good Nebraska team is awesome.

Match score does not indicate how it really went down..All matches tough ones except for 125 Lee just keeps doing what he does. Give Nebby credit they came in to keep it close and they did...Hawks stood around to much but still won so its a W. Leaves lots of room for improvement so next is Ohio State not getting any easier and then you boys come in and it will be a good show..Nice to have around 13,300 attendance nite with the snow storm and a sell out for when Penn State comes lots of good wrestling coming up.

I don’t believe Iowa is over ranked and definitely feel they are the favorite. Having said that if we get healthy it could be very tight. And there is also the chance that you guys get someone hurt also.

I think with his talent he is 2nd. I think with his mental game he is anywhere between 2 and the unthinkable. Do I think he is better than last year? I would hope so. Is he inconsistent? Yes. He has the most loses on the team tied with a true freshman.
