Nebraska vs Iowa

I didn't know that Barry was Bryan Snyder's father! I haven't seen Barry since we used to eliminate at PSU--unfortunately most of them went his way! For those that don't go that far back, Barry Snyder was a very good wrestler who beat the defending national champ from Navy in college.

A SCHS footnote: Easton's Barry Snyder beat former SCHS wrestler Don Rockey in the PIAA semifinals in the remote past.

What years did Barry wrestle? High school and/or college.

Jeff

If you click on above link I listed it gives his bio. He lettered for Easton 1967-1969. I would assume he wrestled for Penn State 1970 - 1973.
I always thought ,Barry son, Bryan and Jammar Billman would maybe both go to Penn State because of his father connection to PSU.
Bryan is listed as Nebraska Asst. Head coach. Took notice he has a PhD.

I'm curious if anyone has even watched Marinelli wrestle this year? Have you seen what he has done to people so far? White did absolutely nothing but keep from get his nose shoved up Marinelli's arse.
Looks about the same as last year which was very good. I see him making the finals (unless of course he catches the JoJo Smith virus).

Barry would have wrestled 1966-69 at Easton HS and 69-73 for PSU. It was his senior year (72-73) that he beat defending NCAA champ Muthler of Navy and was seeded 4th at NCAA's. I believe he lost in the quarterfinals that year at NCAA's and then lost R12 to come just short of being AA.

One other significant footnote on former SCHS wrestler Don Rockey, cited above. Don R was the last guy to beat Wade Schalles in HS. Don beat Schalles in Districts both of their junior years in 1968.

Is this the same Mr. Rocky who taught health at State High in the 80s? He was an awesome teacher!

The Navy wrestler, as mentioned by someone else, was Dan Muthler, Jersey Shore High. I believe he was my father-in-law's first state champ. And, they both sit together, close to me, at most home matches.

I'm not sure, but I doubt it. There was a Len Rockey who later was the coach of the SCHS wrestling team, but don't know if that's the same guy. Someone else can probably help us out on that.

And, I stand corrected. My wife tells me that Muthler was her Dad's first AND second state champion.
