Official PSU - Villanova 2021 Game Thread!

Short of a dominating blowout with a great running game as well as the chunk passes, I'd kind of rather see PSU struggle in some areas the rest of this game so that this week's practices are focused and tough.

I want to see fire in each players eyes next week so that the payback for IU's embarrassing "win" last season is severe........

2 runs for 19 yards, followed by 3 head-scratching plays. This isn’t a game to get cute with the playbook…the OL needs a lot of running reps.

Great Post really is...Agree on everything.

Only issue is 2 yds 3 yds when we need it is all. Auburn I felt we did well, Wisconsin well considering....this is Villanova and yes as Millen said " A good Rush Defense team" my post earlier was explained well. A very good Top 10 Defense will give us trouble.

My main issue is lets be able to get 3YDS a carry is all.....start there.

I do agree with your comment about getting it when we need it. Situational running game is the issue I don't like. If this team can ever figure out how to get 1-2 yds (short yardage situations) in the run game, they're gonna be dangerous. However I think that's a product of Limegrover's philosophy of smaller, lighter, faster OLmen. I THINK I read somewhere that Traut has clearly increased his size of OLmen he recruits. I think he realizes the issue and he's trying to fix it, but bulking OLmen isn't a short-term fix. Looking at the roster, most (outside of Walker, but let's agree the running game starts with INTERIOR push) of the upperclassmen OLmen are in the low 310's (308, 305, 307.... etc). A lot of the lowerclassmen are in the 320s plus. It's happening. The bulk is coming. just takes time. Imagine a MY offense through the air, with a stout inside running game.

This offensive line blows. Is Matt limegrover back and we don’t know it? Thought Trautwein was a good hire.TAKE AWAY TWO BIG PLAYS AND VILLANOVA IS PLAYING PENN STATE EVEN.
ya can’t take away those plays. They happened.

Wisconsin's offense it's typical plodding, nonproductive self - they've scored 3 points in the 1st Half against ND - have put up 88 yards of Offense in the 1st Half on 30 plays. But according to many on here, PSU doesn't have a good offense like Wisconsin that can control the clock.... who cares about actually scoring points - that's not what good offense is all about... its about TOP.... LMAO

The OL stinks but we also don’t have a difference maker at RB. A bunch of solid talent but none of these guys are going to scare anyone or cause extra prep work.

At this point, you hope they get out of this game without injuries. Just one of those games. And not unexpected given the opponent and the emotion of last week's game.

And this against a bad ND Defense that gave up 41 and 32 to really bad FSU and Toledo.

Limegrove liked his OL players to be able to play all positions on OL. Traitwein likes position players. He’s more interested in finding a pure guard and not someone that can play both guard or tackle.

Tell you what... AK is a damn monster..... i mean MONSTER. He is working himself into a day 1 or 2 draft pick. I jsut don't see him that high if he stays at Temple. Great example of a player using the portal to increase his chances of success. Sales brochure for CJF for future portal players.

Lovett may be the go-to
Yeah, I think so.

I mean, we're not the coaches, but with Cain, Lee, and Ford already in the fold, and yet Sedar and Co. reaches out to get Lovett off the portal...one has to wonder if they know more than we do.

Sometimes when you have a lot of RBs, you never really have that 'one' starter. I mean, Mike Archie and Stephen Pitts were good complementary backs, but neither were workhorse backs.
