I think there may be something to that. Clifford appears to be ignoring the dump off pass in the flat. For a team that has such problems on 3rd and short, he should be taking those easy yards rather than focusing too long downfield.I’m wondering - and please talk me off the ledge if I’m wrong - because Franklin emphasizes the “splash plays” so much, does it impact his players’ mentality towards the garden variety plays a team needs to make to sustain drives?
There need to be serious questions aimed at the coaching staff over the O line run blocking. It’s been a recurring problem for years that has not been fixed. It will cost this team games this year, especially as the weather worsens later in the season.
