Football Ohio State defeats Penn State, 20-13

DDS has been a disappointment....the rest of the DEs do nothing.
And how many times has Carter, in his zeal to rush, not set the edge and let the OSU QB run free around his side for a first down...... Carter seemed to have a bigger impact at LB. Sure he had 2 sacks but with OSU running well the sacks didn't matter much. His play at DE does not lead to a solid, top 10 team defense.

What an embarrassment today. The opportunity was there but pissed away again for another year. I don’t quite understand how this happens every year with multiple changes at coordinators and no one can figure out a win.

It is as much mental as physical at this point vs OSU. Don't think we will ever get it done vs them under Franklin.

is this really Franklins offense he brings guys in to run or do we just Kill or have terrible luck with OCoords and blue chip QBs

Nothing to do with the game but this play by play guy and his repeating of “world famous buckeyes”. WTF ???
Agreed. Nobody outside this country knows who the hell the Buckeyes are. It's not like we're talking about the Yankees or Michael Jordan.

Sadly this will be Allar’s legacy
Coming up small in big games

I’m ready for the Grunk era

After losing pretty decisively at home to the bugeyes, will likely have to win out to make the playoff.

If they don’t fire this coaching staff, they need to look at who makes the decision. Franklin is a fraud. Can’t coach and can’t recruit elite talent. With out a doubt, the worst wide receivers in all of football. N

I'm confused how anyone watched the game today with the takeaway "Allar came up small"
It's his fault Wallace dropped a perfect ball for a TD?
It's his fault his receivers can't ever get open?
The horrible play-calling is his fault at the goalline?
Allar was far from perfect but wasn't the issue

THe worst part is that they really should've won this game.
Who?

Yep. We lost this game on our WR vs their DBs

That was the biggest mismatch.

Yet, we tried going there over and over.

OSU was better in every facet today. I didn't see a single advantage for us in this game. 100% healthy Drew is better than Howard, but that's probably it.

The only possible positive that could come from this game is that our better players return in '25 vs turn pro.

Dog crap performance. Just bad. This isn't a great OSU team. At least not yet.

Yeah, PSU's talent is ALMOST right there with OSU's and there is NO WAY OSU should have won every game since 2016. Maybe a curse?

Correct, however it is par for the course for Frankli's teams. Offense is not physical. Cannot impose their will on teams with equal or better talent. CJF needs to fire Hagans. The WRs are totally ineffective. They are no threat so the teams that have athletes stop the run and lock down the PSU WRs which is easy to do. The running game looks weak. CJFF. nice guy, never gonna win a championship at PSU.

Undisciplined teams cannot win big games.
We have not had a strong wide receiver cope for a number of years now.. however.. DL and OL lines were outplayed today. Period.

Agree, and That was no Mickey Mouse defense he was going against. Every QB that goes against OSU has issues. This one isn't on Allar

I will never get it. 4th down at 1 and you put 2 receivers in EZ against 4 defenders and stud TE at 1 easily defended. WHY THE F DON'T YOU ROLL QB OUT TO LONG SIDE and get some space for receivers..or even give QB a change to run it in.

Yes. OSU has more talented players for the most part.

However, the gap in talent isn't as huge at most spots as our WR to their DB where it's HS vs NFL talent IMO.

A lot of the rest can be overcome.

The lines were OK on both sides. The sacks came because Allar had no where to throw.

Our DL and defense held their own.

Well, there has been one constant!
This! This right here!

The offensive playing calling, especially inside the 10, has Franklin’s fingerprints all over it. Low percentage fade to the back of the endzone from the 3 to end the half when you have a timeout? Obvious pass play called on 4th down from the 1 yard line?

our ol sucks against decent teams. 1st and goal from the 3 and cant get in!!!! also Allar is very average. he lacks savey and isn't able to make plays when needed!! I am sorry, I am a huge PSU since 1959, but I am very frustrated at this time. as I said this was a very winnable game!

Our DL most certainly did NOT hold their own.

Let's do some ugly math...1-16 on 3rd downs last year....3-11 today and I believe two of those were on the opening drive. Absolutely beyond embarrassing and pathetic.
Three runs up the middle to Allen. That was Franklin and it was pathetic.

Let's be real though, we ain't winning that game even if we tie it there. Our D was too soft as evidenced by them being able to run out the last 5 minutes all on the ground. They would have driven down for either a FG or TD. Then of course we would have had no ability to respond in the last couple of minutes. Same pathetic effort. Same inability to make clutch plays. Same story of being outcoached on both sides of the ball.
