OSU WISC game thread...

What the hell is Herbie talking about - the ball clearly hit the ground and came lose, that's not a catch!

The rule clearly states that if the ball hits the ground and the player loses control, it is not a catch - have no idea what Herbie was looking at there. If the ball hit ground while under control and player didn't lose control upon hitting ground, then it can be ruled a catch, but no way once ball hits ground and player loses control of ball when it contacts ground.

They correctly overturned the ruling on the field. That's good.

That's my point...if there was a conspiracy going on for OSU to win, they could have let the call stand and they wouldn't have been questioned on it too much.

Indeed. I understand. I'm not on the conspiracy bandwagon. Are teams at times the beneficiaries of bias? Sure. I'm always glad when the replay official gets it right on the basis of conclusive evidence.

That incredibly awesome tO$U defense just gave up 440 yards of Total Offense and 247 rushing yards - 6.5 yards per offensive play (440 yards on 68 plays) to the second worst offense in the conference (and one of the worst offenses in the nation).

I think the upper echelon of the Big gets more than it's share of calls against the lower echelon...and unfortunately we've always been considered in the lower echelon, even when we were good.

Playing Michigan and LSU has something to do with them being ranked that low.

IOW, can you say that tO$U's defense is insanely over-rated and a product of their schedule (especially playing 4 of first 5 @home).

As usual, their DBs look super athletic, although out of position and confused some tonight. Their front 7 does not look as stout as I thought they would. Even vulnerable.

You've really trashed OSU all night. And especially winning a top ten away game in OT tonight, next week should be a cakewalk for us.
So what happens if they come into the legendary white out and smash us?

What's up with urby wearing khakis, bright white tennis shoes and a bright red jacket? Does he have zero awareness of how god awful ugly it is? At least Joe got that the black nikes looked sharp as crap with the flipped up khahis...

Dumbo the troll checks in.

Tough hard fought emotional win for OSU today. Hopefully they're ripe for a trap game next week.

Really, only how you do against really crappy defenses counts? Good to know....

I didn't know Michigan and LSU were crappy defenses. They hung 54 on Akron and 30 on MSU. They did have a bad game against Ga Southern but they've been pretty respectable against everyone else and really stepped up tonight against OSU.

And another hold called...that's three...so much for not being called for it.
They did call a couple tonight. Good. Wiscy had a hold called on them at a crucial time at the end of the game. Seemed like an evenly called game - I did miss a portion of it. During their NC run tOSU went the entire B1G schedule with, I believe, one holding call. They do have a reputation for not holding in the B1G. Someone mentioned earlier that they hadn't had one going into this game. I don't know if that's true.

Or will they be so pissed that they want to make a statement all over our collective asses??

If they lost I'd be worried about that. I dunno...Ohio State is definitely good but I don't think they're invincible. If Penn State gets a bounce or two next week I think we can pull off the upset.

So again, only how they do against crappy defenses counts according to you??? Given the numbers, tO$U would fall on the "crappy" side of the ledger in regards to how Wisconsin's 13th out of 14 offenses in the b1g performed against them tonight (basically on par with how Akron, Ga Southern, MSU did.... BTW, you do realize that the awesome MSU defense gave up 54 points to Northwestern today???

My point is very few offenses do well and rack up big yards against the really good defenses. That's why they're really good defenses.

Northwestern really ran effectively against MSU - big surprise to me. Much more effectively than Wiscy did against MSU.

The OSU OL had ZERO holding calls in the B1G in 2014. So Victor E. Bell's theory that calls even out is completely wrong. Their reputation is not for not holding, it's for not being called for holding.

I was going to say zero, but thought that was preposterous. They were called tonight. That was refreshing.

So again, I guess tO$U definitely doesn't qualify as a "really good defense" given that a really crappy Wisconsin offense (one of the worst in the conference) just torched them both in terms of Total Yards and Rushing Yards.....
