Seeing a lot of Russian Ties from Michigan tonight. Is that their thing or is it something they thought would work on PSU?

Looks like their coaches have taught them to use it as a way to "shorten" the match and keep them low-scoring. In RBY's match, Ragusin put a Russian-tie on RBY double-digit times and did not try to do anything offensive a single time. Just grabbed the Russian-tie and hung on for dear life - over and over and over again.

Ref hit Haines with an undeserved stall call late in that match after Haines forced the action for most of the bout.

Normally I would agree when it’s a match involving Lewan but I actually think he was more of the aggressor in the third period. He was probably thinking he could do just enough to score at the end but Haines had better D than he expected.

It seems to me they shouldn't stop the clock in the mid action like that.

Yes if the action is stopped and the call is overturned the wrestling goes back to were the challenge was.
So 2 for Anime and time reset to 20 seconds.
