Press rains down on Harbaugh

The press doesn't have the balls to go after the B1G ... 2G or what ever the F it is and it's systematic engagement of officials in gifting the Wolveretes and Doeeyes 3 W's or so a season. This has been done systematically since the 1980's to preserve their psuedo rival game at seasons end. The B?G is proud of it's traditions and will do whatever to preserve them. So, Harbaugh was born and raised steeped in this tradition. One of his players bragged this season to the Press that they held every oposition player on every play and got away with it. Problem is, what do the queens ofthe B?G do outside of league play when the rules of engagement change? Ask the powers that be in the Bf'edG and they will ignore it. After all, Harbaugh needs to break out of the Tradition to suceed in bowl games.

Some of the Twitter posts quoted in the Detroit Free Press are priceless! Thanks for linking these articles.

Michigan won't can him. He's a Michigan Man thru and thru, and he's won 10 games a few times. What coach will replace him knowing that the guy before him got fired because he only won 10 games? They have to stick with him, unless he leaves on his own, which might be what they are hoping for.
Failure to beat OSU could eventually be the death knell.

Michigan was previously 4-0 against Florida with three of those wins coming in bowl games. No doubt the Gators were happy to exorcise those demons. Harbaugh can't beat their big rival and he just chalked up their first loss to UF. Looks like the wheels are falling off!!! :(

That will end next year in Ann Arbor !! No way an assistant coach - elevated to a HC - comes in and beats one of the top 5 coaches in the game. Jim will start to own the sucknuts just like in the Cooper years. What were the suckeyes thinking in promoting an assistant but I guess it's hard to get a quality coach to come to that dumpster fire known as Columbus.

Florida just scored again numbnuts. Michigan will get crushed by the Buckeyes next year and lose their bowl game. Jimmah will continue to get paid and you’ll continue being clueless. The world seems about right.

Who are you guys hiring? Where is this top 5 college football coach going to come from?

Michigan, NotreDame. No downfield offense with either of them and that is the name of the game today. The downfield game (although they are an extreme) enabled OU to crawl back in against Alabama. UM and ND not a chance. Watching them is like watching Tressel v JVP. That type of football is history. I'm glad

I remember reading in one of the draft magazines a number of years ago a pro scout commenting that is it almost impossible to teach a Michigan DB to not hold, it is so engrained in how they are coached and seems to be overlooked by the refs in the B1G joke.

I'm not a fan of Colin Cowherd, but he made the most poignant statement regarding Harbaugh and Michigan. It's what all northern schools need to come to grips with.....there are geographical factors that put northern teams at a disadvantage. Thank goodness, Franklin gets this. He went out and hired a coach with strong recruiting ties to the south and in particular, the recruit rich state of Florida. I believe his time at Vandy exposed him to this realization. Yesterday's playoff games was a vivid demonstration as to the dominance of the football talent in the Southeast.

UM is particularly deficient in this regard. Not a come from behind team.

ND is a bit better than UM at going downfield. They, however, were completely over matched yesterday. When the other team can easily cover your WRs one and one and they bring a superior pass rush, you ain't got no chance. No wonder Book had happy feet. He played with guts too. That was the second game where the immense talent disparity surprised me a little. The other was Auburn and Purdue. Not surprised that Auburn and Clemson were physically superior, just the degree to which they were.

Sure, Michigan gets away with a lot of holding, but I'm not sure that the refs are looking the other way. It's that they do the borderline stuff so consistently that the refs get conditioned to it. New England did so much of that a few years back that they changed the wording of the rule after the other teams were complaining. I don't think it worked much.

J-E-T-S.....Jets, Jets, Jets.

Come on down Jimmy. That’s a perfect combination.

You realize Michigan recruits Florida and Texas better than we do, right?

Dear Wolve1972 lay down and I’ll tell you a bedtime story. In a fantasy land far far away there was this great knight in shining armor. His name was Sir Jimmy. He came to the UofM to save fair maidens and delolusional fans in distress and win multiple National Championships. His first task was to slay the terrible ogre in Columbus. The delolusional fans waited and waited and waited. Finally Sir Jimmy’s armor was shown to be rusted. Before the poor deceived fans could run him off he wisely found a rich king in an NFL city who foolishly believed in fairy tales. The End.

Therein lies the problem. Current coach wins 10 games a year but falls short when it comes to championships and key wins. Does replacing him offer any assurances of doing better? Not likely.

Michigan chose Coach Harbaugh, agreed on the contract amount, and has subscribed to his methods.
If they are happy, I’m happy for them.
My question for us is how long until we fall into a similar mindset?
Win at any cost?
Just win baby?
Please excuse, I’m just rambling on a Sunday morning.

“Wait until next year, you’ll see, you’ll see”
— typical Michigan homer

Do people really believe Harbaugh cares at all about what the media says?
I have no idea what he does long term but I can't see him going to the NFL without a true franchise QB. If Green Bay calls then he's probably gone.

He is full of shit but that's fairly common with him. It's about developing a downfield offense. Without it, fuggedaboudit

Right now Harbaugh is the modern version of Earle Bruce and Frank Solich. The question is whether 3 losses per year will be enough at UM. It wasn’t in Lincoln or Columbus. Nebraska has never found anyone as good as Solich so firing him was an epic mistake. OSU was ultimately able to getTressel and Meyer spit worked out for them. I suspect UM is much closer to Nebraska than to OSU.
The thing about Harbaugh is it is surprising how tied he is to 1990s football. Going into 2019 with the WRs UM has he should throw the ball 60% of the time. But I don’t think it’s in his DNA

10 wins a year is enough for most UM alums to be satisfied with coach, just like most PSU alums are happy with 10 wins a year.

What sucks is they’re paying him to be a championship coach without getting championship results. Now they’re stuck short of that goal with a bloated contract.

At least try to make your troll job a tiny bit believable. You did a worse job with this post than Harbaugh did coaching against UF.

wolve1972 is RutgersAl on steroids. You all know he's playing a role, loving the attention, you know this, right? If I ever find myself responding to one of his posts I should shoot myself but other than that he's a hoot.

But you must remember that Rutgersal posts are basically TIC. Wolves is dead serious about his posts.
