PSU - Nebraska 2020 Dual Thread

One thing many people forget about Nick's junior year and his match against Red in HS. Nick was out most of the year with an injury. He wrestled 3 matches in December that year at Team State and didn't wrestle again until the State Tournament. There was no real resistance leading up to the match with Red. He had one major decision in the semifinal against a kid who won the State Title the next year. Not sure if Nick was 100% or not, but he definitely didn't have much mat time leading into that matchup. Would it have mattered? Who knows...

12 months ago it was a 5-4 win for Nick, tonight a dominating victory.

direct tv is out. sitting here watching on a tablet thingy and listening to byers with the video being 45 seconds ahead. jared is wrestling 3rd period and my wife tells me we need to plug in the tablet. ok make it quick. then she bumps the off button on the power stick.i'm finally back on. gotta love satellite.

If you have a smart TV, use the Fox Sports App and screw Directv!

He really is. The thing that surprised me the most is the Chad has typically been difficult to finish on. He has been an excellent scrambler. I don't know how many times he's escaped getting taken down while standing on one leg. He balance was always amazing and he was great at getting into a scramble and scoring off others shots. None of that happened today. Being from Indiana and having watched both Nick and Chad for many years, I had a little fist pump (not an illegal one to the back!) and a big smile from my living room tonight.
did a great job lifting the leg and his torso to avoid any funk... nice posture!

I am sorry
I hate to say it
It is nothing personal
I believe Meredith and Piper aren’t good ( in my opinion) however they go after it.
I do not like Verkleeren wrestling ability

This match has already revealed a lot regarding expectations for points at certain weights.

I love pipher's attitude, at least he goes out and gives it his all! But we need joe lee to start heading down if Berge isn't coming back
Sounds like Berge will be back this year.

Doubt Cael pulls Joe Lee’s shirt until it’s all but certain Berge won’t wrestle this season. IMO, that’s the smart long-term move.

Edit: Besides, we don’t know if Joe is certified or can make weight at 157.

Other working hypotheses on why Tim
Johnson is so sullen during this dual . . .

(2) He's pissed he got stuck w/ Chertow

(3) He's pissed he didn't get the Iowa assignment tonight

(4) He's pissed at BTN's policy that at least one commentator has to be sober on the broadcast, and he lost the coin toss.

Haha, that's actually more of an insult to WildLizard than to jerot.

And I'm guessing that was by design.

Would love to see this match not come down to a last takedown or SV.

165: Joseph vs. Isaiah White

Per 1
White with a double attempt right off the whistle, nothing. Then another double by White; nice D by Joseph. White with an ankle pick, nothing. Joseph with a semi-counter, nothing. 1:30 left. Joseph in on a single, White sprawls with a whizzer, Joseph gets the far ankle and the TD, 2-0. OOB with 43 sec . White works up, and he's out, 2-1 (surprised Joseph didn't try to trip him back down). End. RT @ ??

Per 2
White takes bottom. White gets broken down, and is flattened. RT goes over 1 min. Stall warning on White, who is still flattened. White to his base, and Joseph flattens him again. White doing nothing again. White to his knees, and flattened again. Rideout. RT @ 2:17 for Joseph

Per 3
Joseph takes bottom. He works up, back down, up again, to his feet, and is out in 15 sec, 3-1. 1 min left. Joseph reaches, nothing. Joseph shoots, and stalling called on White, 4-1. OOB with 29 sec. White shoots late. End. With 2:00 in RT, it's a 5-1 decision for Joseph

12-11, Nebraska
