Real question: could he beat Dake today if they wrestled?Ghasempour looked good. Not feeling great about DT right now. What do you guys think?
Don’t matter in the words of Ricky Bobby “if you ain’t first , your last “Ghasempour looked good. Not feeling great about DT right now. What do you guys think?
Never could before and Dakes only gotten younger while DT has grown old. Tech for Dake no problemReal question: could he beat Dake today if they wrestled?
Who cares, he’s not our problem anymore. Let Okie State deal with him. That's because DT is one of the worst losers I've ever seen. We all remember his loss to J'den at the Trials. There is always an excuse, other than "I got beat today. Back to work tomorrow."
So who won?lol my steam went out as soon as sadulaev went behind ghasempour in a quad pod with like 5 seconds left. you can't make this up
I’ll try to fix it so you don’t feel like you need to correct me in the future. Good day.
Green's match was a head scratcher. He looked good and had a 4-0 lead 1:40 into the match when something switched to where he looked like he hit a wall conditioning-wise and gave up ten straight points. I could understand that if this had been at 65kg since that was too much of a cut for him, but up at 70kg I am not sure what to make of it.Not a great showing for the US. I expected better with the guys we had going but 3 of them are probably over the hill so maybe it’s what I should have expected. Still, they all looked good at trials. Green is probably my biggest surprise. I thought he had a decent path but got handled and then the guy who beat him got teched. We should still come home with a couple medals hopefully but I don’t think any gold. I don’t have Vito beating Ono in the semis with how incredible Ono has looked. JB should win bronze. DT definitely still up in the air
Edit-didn’t realize Vito was wrestling right as I was typing this
Sadulaev. Amazing. Not that I saw it live considering the freaking feed cut out.So who won?
Anyone have the Vito/Ono match? I want to see out next 33 pounder lol
I’d like to think a large portion of regulars did. One might even wager a majority.
I think most of us understood your point.
So what is your point? What do you think wrestling fans should be more interested in and discussing on a wrestling forum?Seems like a lot of folks are more interested in making excuses for David losing.
Underhook heavy approach. Hard hand fighting and try to wear him out. Lots of snaps as well. Work that neck of Sad and see if can hold up. No committed attacks where you end up under him in the first period. Make him continuously clear ties especially hooks. In the second try snatch singles or attacking with angles. Still might not be enough but that’s the game plan I think gives the best shot and it’s one AB could definitely executeWatching the DT vs Sadulaev video, one thing is pretty clear. You really want to stay off your knees against Sadulaev. If you make a straight on shot, it better be a clean double like you see from guys like JB. Going underneath and getting stopped is just playing into his strengths.
I know it's a lot easier said than done, but I think someone (AB?) should work on making angles for leg attacks and maybe pass by or short arm drag style attacks. DT's approach didn't seem to be at all effective.
So what is your point? What do you think wrestling fans should be more interested in and discussing on a wrestling forum?
Pointing out facts such as age difference, and the different weights where the wrestlers have achieved success in the past is totally relevant in analyzing why David Taylor was dominated. So is the fact that David Taylor is the head coach of OSU and may not be 100% dedicated to training. There is absolutely nothing wrong with fans discussing why they think a loss occurred, even if the reason can be labeled as an "excuse." The only people who should not be allowed to make such observations are those who state and believe that "excuses are for wusses." I, for one, as a fan believe it is totally appropriate to discuss how injuries, failure to properly train, or decline in skills due to age may have effected an athlete's performance.
I haven't seen anyone saying David Taylor should have won that match. It was clear who the better wrestler was. I just don't understand what you think people should be interested in talking about.
I’m thinking they’re better than Brayden Thompson. Thompson’s mom got a little salty when that was pointed out by someone on Flo’s Facebook page.Gotta wonder who the training partners are for Saduleav are. They are probably pretty decent themselves.
Taz grew up in "his club", right? Be interesting to see/hear if/when that split happened and how amicable it was.Gotta wonder who the training partners are for Saduleav are. They are probably pretty decent themselves.
my point is that folks can talk all they want about different variables and I just don't care, there is no situation DT was beating Sads. Put DT in a time machine and go back a few years, doesn't change a thing. No version of DT is winning this match today even if Casey was in his corner. I didn't say there was anything wrong with folks saying whatever they wanted but I am not buying it - simple as that. DT was prepared enough to win the trials and I think he was ready to go but wasn't ever going to beat Sads, there is a reason Kyle Snyder is something like 1-6 against him.So what is your point? Damn, will he be able to roll with folk or just the Nlwc guys?
That last head pinch looked remarkably like the standing cement mixer Jamarr Billman hit in his SR state finals.
Not to pick a side in this, but, in other threads people are all saying (guys dropping weight against guys going up a weight) it favors the guy going up, because they will have full tanks and the ones dropping will have no energy. I know one is a tournament, and the other is a season. That did not seem to be a factor in this match.Apparently everyone knew what he meant but you lol

Not saying it beats him but it’s better than shooting underneath him with volume like DT did. Also, his neck might not be the same after his injury. Snyder is not an underhook wrestler either. He is a volume attacker for the most part. AB’s underhook is his main weapon. Big difference I thinkSnyder already tried that one. 2021 Worlds (after trying low single at the Olympics)
Sad just went Greco stance and underhook pass-by. The dude has so many weapons. And he got tired once. The first time they wrestled. And NEVER again.
DTs first shot was good but he got out scrambled, to an extent, and ended in neutralNot saying it beats him but it’s better than shooting underneath him with volume like DT did. Why do any of that when you can be the righteous voice of reason instead? So what is your point? What do you think wrestling fans should be more interested in and discussing on a wrestling forum?

Vito is in the Bronze medal match.Did this thread end? What happened to our guys in the consolation matches?
Definitely a changing of the guard for the US team upcoming.Vito is in the Bronze medal match.
Taylor is in the Repechage bracket. He's the 4th match on Mat A in the morning session against Abubakr Abakarov (AZE). If DT wins that match he'll face Lars Schaefle (GER) in the next repechage round, and if he wins that match he'll get Kamran Ghasempour (IRI) in the Bronze medal match.
JB & Green are both out.
Are those local Albania times or US times?Thursday, October 31

Kota Takahashi is in the repechage bracket at 79kg. Is this the same Takahashi that beat Mesenbrink at U23's?
