Sickels' suspension for the 1st half.

It was said late in the Tosu game that Sickels was suspended for the 1st half because he missed too many classes during the bye week. Was the suspension Franklin's decision or was it mandated by the ncaa or b1g due to some rule concerning class attendance?

Voluntarily sitting a star player for even part of a big game because he didn't take care of his academics. Reminds me of a former Penn State coach.
