Teasdale

Guy 1- Give Ed Ruth two points for the near fall

Guy 2- No, might have been for the reversal...

Neither right, it was a takedown. This is comedy gold! I actually forgot how funny it was.

Wasnt there two arrests made after that match? I think it was criminal statue 27.14, lying under Oaf?

Ruth working on a chicken wing. LOL

They would have been better off getting one of the youth wrestlers in the stands to sit with them and make the calls.

Anymore of those available? Pure comedy gold.

IDK, they were pretty hilarious right away, once the initial shock wore off and we figured out what was going on.
Just like Spyker. I never understood the people who argued with Spyker seriously. Just enjoy! :)

That's some good stuff! I could watch/listen to more like those all day.

I agree with whoever suggested there should be a pinned thread with these and others, whether clips or whole matches.

If you look for 2011-2014 BTN matches on
YouTube imagine you could find a bunch more

The Nebraska kids will never be topped! They bravely attempted to be commentators on a sport that they knew absolutely nothing about and, as a result, produced an all-time classic!!

Amen to that. Their mistake was they obviously spent 15 minutes having someone telling a bunch of wrestling, but they didn't spend any time learning what the terms meant.

I glad you posted the classic Nebraska videos.
Those videos are a classic example of taking a really bitter lemon and making a great lemonade out of it.
I have used comedy to lighten up my mood after suffering a tough defeat as a fan in watching a sporting event. I.E. I'm a diehard NY Jets fan. More than once after suffering thru aa numbin defeat on a Sunday afternoon, I would refuse to watch the Sunday night football game, I would watch The Jackass show on MTV. It would help make me forget what I witnessed earlier in the day.
I think that is what happened to this Teasdale thread.

Every 8-10 months it's good to have a fist to the back thread because new people laugh for the first time and older posters laugh again.

If you think the lemon taste is called bitter, you should see a dictionary or a doctor! ;)

Or they just made up their own terms, interlock, up-down, fist to back, stallmate, I could go on.....

BTN started doing duals 2010 or 2011 and they used broadcasting students for all the matches.Wish we got more of that would rather laugh then listen to Gibbons,Sparks and Olanowski
And, as I recall for the Nebraska dual, they had some complication in getting announcers for that dual and the pair that announced the dual was gotten at the last minute, before they had much time to prepare--and obviously knew almost nothing about the sport. But, with their little knowledge and little time to prepare, they did give it their best shot!!

Thanks for that memory. Who knew that the announcers at an Ed Ruth match would be as entertaining as Ed. There have been contenders since that match -- but none of come close. I love "stalemate". In one of the other matches in this dual they referred to a stall warning as "a fist to the back". :)

One of my first jobs was working for WM at 15 years old. Drove around a golf cart unloading trash barrels at the Iowa State Fair. Any relation lol?

I was thinking more along the lines of
What a great screenname/gimmick, you got.

I was thinking of adding either a Tony Soprano pic or Oscar the grouch... decisions.

Aside from the comedy gold from the announcers, I love the 30 second cutaway (highlighted by the woman pounding some popcorn) to the crowd while the action is still going on.
And then the graphic overlay reminding the audience that these are students (possibly from the drama department?).
