tOSU - Indiana game thread

Indiana D did well to hold tOSU to a FG on the opening drive for tOSU.

Barrett did pretty well on the short passes.

tOSU's offensive line had some problems on runs, and did well on passes

First drive for O$U, a lot of empties and 5 wides. Wheel routes. QB draws. Not a lot downfield. Crossing routes. Real fast tempo. Got stunned in the red zone.

and Indy marches down the field and answers with a TD. Only 2 runs on the drive (well, a busted play where the QB ran, so technically 3 runs), which amounted for nothing or negative yards, but a lot of quick passes seemed to negate tOSU's strength on the DLine

At first glance, the brand new five star defensive backfield for Ohio State, may not quite be up to speed with last years' defensive backfield. It may not be a fact that you simply plug in and play, actually. It may matter if you lose three db's to the NFL, again, perhaps. It's early.

Nope carved them up...our wide receivers will have a field day on 50/50 balls ;)

Was waiting for a comment about IU completing 50/50 balls a lot like PSU. Winning a lot of lucky balls. :)

OSU defense lined up offsides on both 1st and 2nd down on last IU series and neither were called. Rewind and you'll see how obvious they were (left side of defensive line -- #86 who made the tackle on 1st down was way offsides on both plays).

Herbie says IU is rushing 3, trying to put the game in the hands of JT Barrett. Wouldn't you stack the box to force Barrett to pass? Complete homer.

Unless OSU develops a downfield passing game, Kevin Wilson might as well be Kevin Nealon calling plays. So far in this game it looks like rinse and repeat....and all of that talent still can't find a WR able to get open.

Indiana Game National Anthem

That might be the worst I've ever heard.

Interesting game so far. I still don't see any "playmakers" on Ohio St.
And OMG Herby you can stop making excuses for Barrett, Jesus its only the 2nd quarter of the first game. Pace yourself.
Indy looks pretty good so far and Lagow looks good but if they don't protect him better he won't last.
IU's got some athletes.

Have to say it... I don't see a whole lot of difference at least yet with OSU. Barrett has not shown consistency down field yet and look to be much the same team as last year. See how the game progresses but their offense is not that impressive so far.
They haven't found their sync, that's for sure. No doubt the offensive change is still sinking in. It also helps IU that their players are familiar with what Kevin Wilson likes to do. Should be an interesting game to watch.
