US Open

Is tonight IT for the junior team? Win tonight and you make World team?

Surprised we didn’t see Nick Lee or Beard.

No, there's a Junior World Team Trials process. Open winners sit to finals. I don't think there is a qualification criteria for juniors, so I imagine that Beard could still enter. Someone correct me if Im wrong.

Nick will have to go Last Chance Open or U23s if he wants to wrestle any elite competition this summer.

Looking forward to Brooks-Griffith. Brooks the clear favorite, but Griffith went 24-2 in his redshirt year with wins over a handful of NCAA qualifiers. He also gave Joseph a close match

Griffith with the size advantage ...

Not watching but what was the score of the RBY match before the pin.
4-2 RBY before the exchange.

Would have been 6-4 Tagg if RBY could have gotten away. Edit: 8-4

Tagg was very physical, which gives RBY some trouble as we know. What a hammer.

Snacks up.

Cassioppi throw to shot to leg lace. 0-4

Snacks looks to throw Cassioppi, but 4 given to Cass. Review? Cass was aggressor.

Upheld. 0-9. Not sure how that works, but more informed people can answer.

Teched.

Seems that Cassioppi is a better freestyler. Although if Seth got the 4, it could have been different.

Dominated. Nevills' size/reach/strength will save him (4X AA), but you can see why he didn't get a scholarship sniff in football. Lead feet.

Didn't help that Cass got a bye to the finals and Seth had a full match 30 minutes prior.... but still.

I was afraid of that...Cass is a monster and I think he’s best at free too. Seth has an awesome tournament though and he’s improved quite a bit since the last time I saw him wrestle free.

Cass way too much and yea that 4 to Cass could have went to Seth but Cass the aggressor and dominated Snacks real quick

There's a good example of the 8 pt. swing I was lamenting in the Freestyle thread. I don't know what you do there, looked like Seth's 4 to me. But Cass the better freestyler, for sure.

We're doomed.

Ferrari.....

Seth is very good and consistently good, until he hits the more elite guys. I would not yet put Cassi in that category but I do expect him to AA out of the gate next year for sure. This isn't the first time where Seth mows through the early rounds with ease only to reveal he is a long way from a top 4 type guy. I think he will be slightly better than big bro which is great, but if you want a top 4 heavy only AJ Ferrari is still out there. I can see AJ at a Cassar like 240 lbs in 2-3 years.

I dunno, maybe we should take Goggles seriously here. Bartlett looks pretty dang good. That said, I'll be perfectly happy w/ a 4x AA Seth Nevills on our team.

Also- @TangSoo was joking.

Alright, let’s get back to Aaron Brooks. I don’t know about you clowns, but I can’t wait to watch him ankle pick fools at REC Hall
Aaron is the truth.

Did you guys get a look at Trent Hidlay? Boy's been growin'. Looks like Macchiavello. Could see Aaron and he at 184 finals in the near future.

Seriously?!?! Nevills takes a loss in the US Open FINALS and now he only has success in the “early rounds?” Really? Dude killed it as a Greyshirt this year including a win over Hemida and he gets better every time I see him...Cass is a stud and more experienced in free - RELAX!

Edit...I should’ve quoted Goggles’ post for this
