XFL to return in 2020

Crazy WWF-style theory/idea/publicity stunt:
Would be a colossal circus/train wreck and would be immensely entertaining to watch it play out.
In early January, XFL makes offers to all players on top 8 College football teams.
They will stage a 8 game playoff! They need to fill 8 team rosters with 40 players. Obviously many players wouldn't give up their NCAA status or risk injury if NFL bound. But marginal players, 4th stringers, run-on seniors have nothing to lose.
It would prove next to nothing. But it would be fun (except if PSU is in the mix) to see these top 8 teams get depleted of depth and to watch the barely exhibition level games that ensue.
It couldn't ever happen (could it)? But it would be so much fun. And there is always the possibility that there's some potential star who's buried on a team's depth chart for some reason who gets a chance to be a star for at least a week or two or three.
