i'm afraid you guys are going to be disappointed then as he was given a final warning recently
Yeah its a shame too, because idiots like you don't understand how the ignore button works. Amazing. One of those sit on your hands fans come Saturday afternoon. Like I said...Richard Cranium. Maybe you'll learn the ignore button on me. But I doubt it.

Oh, I forgot, I thought we were talking about wrestling and National Champioships - not a high school dance. My bad.. !
Congrats to the team, but as all wrestlers have said during their interviews, take care of your matches and the team score will take care of itself . A lot of good wrestling this evening and a big match for Nick this afternoon.
Lets go PSU wrestling!!!

184:

3rd/4th:
TJ Dudley (Nebraska) by pin over Sammy Brooks (Iowa)

5th/6th:
Myles Martin (Ohio St) over Nola Boyd (Ok St), 10-6

7th/8th:
Drew Foster (No. Iowa) pins Nathan Jackson (Indy) (Jackson went for a throw at the end, trailing by 2 points, and got pinned with 1 or 2 sec left)

I know. it was meant to be a sarcastic comment towards the people on this board who were having a meltdown after Big Tens and saying that we wouldn't win this year with only 8 wrestlers.
Sorry. I missed your point completely.

I'm sorry, but it's not a good look. He's a "Sasso isn't Cael's type" guy. It's annoying. It completely dismisses wrestlers who choose to go to other great programs.
Why isn't that a good look. A PSU fan said it, not Cael. Bottom line is Cael recruits guys who do not have off the mat issues, things such as academics and behavioral issues. With 9.9 scholarships, you can't afford to lose guys to those types of issues. Plenty of great wrestlers out there who are clean off the mat.

3rd/4th:
Kollin Moore (Ohio St) pinned Jared Haught (VT)

5th/6th:
Aaron Studebacker (Nebraska) over Preston Weigel (Ok. St.), 9-0

7th/8th:
Ryan Wolfe (Rider) over Kevin Beazley (Old Dominion), 2-1

Bottom line is Cael's formula works, he has built probably the most dominate college sports program in the country. It would be foolish to change that formula.

There was a guy a few years ago with a troubled home life that Cael did offer with conditions, he chose to wrestle for one of our competitors...he is now at his second school and on probation for 7 years.

Idk how hyperbolic 50 is. You can assume 20 from Suriano and then you only need Cortez and Lee to split 30. I think the liability there is Cortez.

Yea, that's a lot of points. Suriano is very likely a finalist/champion next year, but we haven't seen Cortez wrestle a full season and Lee will be a freshman. Let's give them a chance before we heap the expectations of adding another 12-15 points each to the team total.

285 5th place match

Nick Nevills vs. Jacob Kasper (Duke)

Kasper won 3-1 in the Quarters

Per 1
nice flurry after a Kasper shot, but no points. Nevills tries a shrug-by, nothing. Kasper reaches, nothing. Nevills shot for the right leg, nothing. 30 sec left. Kasper drives in on a body lock, and he gets the TD, 0-2. damn

Per 2
Nevills takes bottom. He's to his feet, turns in, and he's out, 1-2. RT at 22 sec for Kasper. Nevills in on a double, Kasper reaches over for an ankle, Nevills to a single after a scramble, he's close but they are on the edge, and he gets the TD, 3-2. End RT at 9 sec for Nevills

Per 3
Kasper takes bottom. He's up and he's out in 6 sec, 3-3. RT at 3 sec for Nevills. Ear-to-ear for awhile. Now underhooks. And they break, then go back to collar ties. 45 sec left, and nobody is close to shooting. 30 sec. They break at 13 sec, Nevills in on a low single, they scramble, and time runs out. Going OT

SV-1
Kasper shoots quickly, but an injury TO for Kasper at 4 sec. Seems he banged his eye on the shot. Nevills takes bottom on the restart. He's working up, Kasper drapped onto him. Granby roll by Nevills and he gets away for the win!!!!!!!!

He wins, 4-3, and takes 5th!

Nevills escapes in sudden victory to win fifth place.

Inadvertent eye poke caused injury time, thus Nevills got his choice. Chose down, hit a granby and and escaped to win.

Tough break for Kasper, good way to finish for Nick tho!! Congrats to Nick and wow great action in OT with Hall and Walz

Congrats Nick! Even though there are guys on here who will tell you 5th place wrestlers suck, I disagree

They need to change the injury time rule.

You should not be able to benefit from poking your opponent in the eye.

I agree with this, though it's tough to enforce. Last thing you want is for someone to fake an injury to catch a breath and recover.

Whatever.... Expectations we have aren't going to have a licks bit of difference to how these guys perform next year. These guys are focused and they will wrestle to their full capability - whether that is enough to get them on the podium, let alone the top of it, we won't know until next year.

Team scores after Session 5:

PSU - 122 (wrapped up the title)
Ohio St - 106
Ok. St - 99
Iowa - 93
Mizzou - 82.5
VT - 64.5
Minny - 62.5
Cornell - 60.5
Nebraska - 59.5
Mich - 47.5
Illini - 43.5
ASU - 42
Wisky - 39.5
Lehigh - 36
UVA - 29.5
S. Dakota St - 28.5
No. Iowa - 27.5
NC State - 26
Rutgers - 24.5
Edinboro - 20.5
Rider - 20
Wyoming - 20
etc

Maybe it's for your protection as well.

Though, I'd like to know how that Myles Martin can't AA this season prediction is working out for you.

that's basically why the choice was implemented. There isn't a perfect solution, but guys/coaches were taking advantage of the injury rules.

FWIW, I thought Kasper's injury was that he drove into Nevill's knee, and not that he was poked in the eye.

I understand the dilemma and agree that coaches were manipulating the rules to take their wrestlers some lung help.

I think a slight tweak (eye pokes, ball shots, and other stuff that is penalized in other sports) is necessary.

And the comment is in no way meant to detract from Nevills's win...Just a general statement about the rule in general.
