How important is Bonus ?

Take away just Bo's (7.5), Zain's (6.5) and Nolf's (6.0) bonus, and team scores:

Ohio St - 106
PSU - 102
Ok. St - 99
Iowa - 93

The BONUS of ONLY Zain, Nolf & Bo is 20 points - basically the same value of another finalist/champ.
Interesting stats. Question, do the totals for both of the OSU's include or exclude their bonus points?

It's still ridiculous. A presence or absence of faith is completely irrelevant to this run or anyone's success in any field.

And how many of the guys don't share or have that faith? It's completely irrelevant.
i hope i don't find out how that works out for you.

Of course he can. And I can comment that it was false, stupid, and makes us look ridiculous.

Does Zain have "faith" or no? How about Rasheed? Don't know and don't care.

Of course Zain has "faith"...in himself. Bevilacqua didn't say religion even though he may have meant that. He could easily respond that PSU wrestlers have faith in themselves.

What's next? Are you gonna crap on Nickal or Nolf for saying they give glory to God? Let it go. Time to stop being the unofficial ACLU police and get back to talking wrestling.

Funny, between sessions I'm buying groceries and compiling donated clothes and toys to deliver tomorrow for a local Syrian refugee family, regularly demonized and called terrorists by the religious right in this country. Must be because I have faith.

It was a stupid comment. The rest of that is nonsense. Nothing else to say.

I did say "There isn't a perfect solution."

To your points, an eye poke, or other incidents where the ref stopped things just to check on the wrestler would not result in the other wrestler having choice. It's only in situations where they can't shake it off, or need to be attended to by a trainer, and thus the injury clock is started, where the other wrestler gets choice.

In most matches, even if choice was granted, it wouldn't make much of a difference. In this match, where they were in SV-1, and neither guy had shown a lot of offense and the only TD scored was in the 1st period, and neither guy had shown the ability to ride the other guy for very wrong, having choice was an advantage for Nick. Whether he had lost an advantage to counter and get a TD when Kasper got injured, we'll never know.

My thoughts on this are are follows. For perhaps greater fairness, the solution may be to permit the ref to be able to call an injury timeout without penalty if he witnesses a particular possible injury and there is immediately a reaction from the wrestler that supports an injury occurred. In the case of Nevills-Kasper, if the ref saw the injury and Kasper immediately reacted to it, he could call a timeout without any penalty to Kasper. Kasper gets perhaps 60 secs to gather himself and continue. If Kasper requests additional time to recover, then the usual injury penalty to Kasper applies.

Only problem with being the presumptive favorite in 2018 is that the board's resident idiot will be hard pressed to come up with any ludicrous doom and gloom prediction to be wrong about next March.
There may be one poster who tends to go overboard, but in all fairness there are more than just one who tend to lean towards the pessimistic point of view.

I'll conditionally agree that if he were a PSU employee it would have been a stupid comment to make. Since he's a private citizen, no one but you (and perhaps some ACLU employees) gives a $h1t...

Now, I also have nothing else to say...except to honor the glory that is Penn State wrestling and publicly state that I have faith in Cael Sanderson to lead our program to many future championships.

Actually, when I heard him, I thought he simply said they have faith. Religion never crossed my mind.

They're making fun of him on HR, so it's not no one else.

He can say whatever he wants, I can think it was stupid. Good game.

He did say what he wanted. HR? Their team got owned by ours in the regular season AND the post season. Really? ROTFLMFAO...:D That's sour grapes talking.

Lets align in our belief that tonight its time for our guys to dominate tonight!!

Yours in Wrestling!!

I was applying your standard. It wasn't just me, it wasn't just me in this very thread.

It was a dumb comment implying the "right kind of kids" also have faith. False and stupid. But whatever.

I won't comment on this again. It's a great day and thread.

Let it go already. Nobody gets a gold medal for being right, no matter how hard or often they try.

Let me explain how this works. It's championship Saturday, and this is a free board. When it gets overdone, we'll step in. Like on football Saturday's, we let it roll within reason. No wrestling is going on. Let's just enjoy the day.

I think we go 4/5.

Zain
Nolf
Hall
Bo

VJ can do it but IMar is just too tough imho.

Back to wrestling, how do our guys win tonight? How does Cenzo stop IMAR? How does Mark Hall rebound from his previous loss to BoJo? Does Bo beat Dean and if so, how?

As A junior varsity wrestler I prayed to god to help me win ( a certain young lady was going to be at the match an I wanted to impress ) I took the match An pancaked him in 36 seconds yea for god helping me. My opponent got the girl. So which side was god on lol. ( true story)

What is the score if you take away the bonus from the other teams top 3.

Cenzo out positions, out wrestles and out scores IMar.
Markie gets his 2 and 3 takedowns earlier and cleaner.
Bo's offensive threats keep dean at bay, but Bo's length and quickness get him enough points to beat the Dean.

I have faith we win 5 of 5.:)

would think that the coaches An cenzo s big decision would be go after it. Open it up An score An try to create a high scoring match or slow down An be very cautious about shots
