He's gotta go straight to an MRI. Make sure no structural damage. That could still be ligament damage, right?

Cox goes up 4 early over Brucki.
2 more for Cox. Center.
And another TD. And something else I missed for the Tech.

Now Yianni v. Punia

Yianni TD for 2.
Y in on shots, but not able to finish.
In again, but Punia defending. Yianni got 2 somewhere else.
Now 2 TD for Punia.
But, they take 2 away from Yianni. It is 2-2, with Punia in the lead.

Break.

Yianni shot. Good defense from Punia.
No punia in on shot, but Yianni does Yianni things for his own TD. 4-2 Yianni.
2 exposure for Yianni, followed by 2 exposure for Punia.
Yianni gets another TD. 8-4.
Yianni bleeding.
And Yianni wins it! 10-8

The dude took GREAT shots. He didn't need to rely on his counters so much. They were still there, but his shots won him that. He's going to be a world champ/Olympic champ, no doubt.

Burroughs gets the pushout.

Burroughs double-legs straight to Ben's back for 4. 5-0.

And another 2 and 2. 9-0. Back to center.

Ben taking ground now, but JB may have taken his foot off the pedal.

He's going to let it go to break.

Break.

The Yianni match was good but the scoring seemed questionable at times. Need to watch a replay.

Soriano showed good defense, but kind of just stalls the rest of the time.

Askren shouldn't have been out there.

Biggest concern is DT's health. Hoping we hear good news soon.

Narrator:
And that was the last time a NLWC wrestler ever competed at Beat the Steets . . .

Get well soon DT.

Bajrang may not have been at full capacity and/or jetlagged, but Yianni is a joy to watch wrestle. I'll cheer my butt off for Zain still, of course, but wow.

How does that work w/ his NCAA title at a weight in between the 2 olympic weights? He should stay at 92 anyway, IMO, but I'm curious.

I think a wrestler who wins at NCAAs can go either up or down. For example, Ashnault can go 65 KG or 70 KG. Nolf could go 70 KG or 74 KG. And Bo could go 86 KG or 92 KG. Cassar can also go up or down.

i'm not an expert, just basing it on the titles in the link below that says 184lb champ gets the 86kg spot at WTT and 197lb champ goes to 92kg. there could be earlier documentation that says NCAA champs can choose between two weights.

https://www.teamusa.org/USA-Wrestli...r-World-Team-Trials-Qualifiers-as-of-April-29

edit: found the qualification procedures. it doesn't specify what weight the NCAA champs need to go at WTT, just that they qualify.

David is a fairly regular Twitter poster and I haven't seen anything. Not sure what that means. Sucks for him.

Considering it is only about 13 hours after he was injured, I wouldn't read anything into the lack of news. Good chance he did not have an examination by an Orthopedist last night or a MRI.

Good news is he can request a delay in his Final X match which I expect him to do.Looking at the USA Wrestling calendar Fargo makes sense would give DT 6 extra weeks
