And the fact that we could reasonably have all 6 Olympic team members training at NLWC if Spencer can't put a full tournament together and Gable doesn't come back.

Now, a guy who isn't even cracking our first team is taking 3rd at Sr. Nationals, another is a runner up. High school commits are qualifying for OTTs, and you're dismissing the next wave? Acting like State College isn't on top of the wrestling world? Not even you are that ignorant. The only place in the world that can hold a candle to what's happening in Centre County is in Dagestan.

I will even say that I expect Spencer to take the 57kg spot. But he hasn't had to go through the meat grinder that he will face at the OTT. I'd consider him the favorite, but I'd put the odds of him losing in the semis at about the same. Until I see him have the gas tank go through the whole tournament, I'll believe it when I see it.

Guy, have you ever wrestled or do you just follow for fun? Honest question? You all have said it, that this team was great. In reality IOWA is not HEAVILY favored in any matches in the dual. Yet you want an even bet?

Spot on with Lee, it's all about the tank. Obviously his skill and strength are there.
I mentioned on the Hawk board that if the Farrel match with Nico went another minute I think Lee would have lost.
Looks like his tank has improved since as I didn't feel that way in the rematch with Nico.
Nico is a tough cookie, full throttle whistle to whistle, very experienced and man strength. I think Nico is capable of hanging with or beating anyone seeded above him.
How does Nico fare against Gilman?

Bird, Taylor just destroyed Yaz a few months ago. Dake went down to the wire with Sidakov a few months ago and wrestled a horrible match.
Snyder has a tougher road but I'll never count out a 27 year old olympic gold medalist and multi time word champion.
Taylor hasn't regressed. He's been with PSU since he was like 18 years old.

Your statement was that everyone regresses when they come to the NLWC. The fact is Gilman has won a gold and silver with NLWC after only winning bronze with HWC.

Taylor is the odds on favorite for gold. Dake and Sidakov are neck and neck. Snyder has the unfortunate luck of being at the weight of one of the greatest ever. I guess we are also glossing over Zain's world championship. Heck, we even got a women's medal with Jen Page getting a bronze.

He was surely regretful and demoralized that whole season. He easily would have beaten Spencer if he stayed at PSU (just like he surely would have won the year he was at PSU in the best room in the world if he hadn’t injured his ankle). Your buddy IRONY already told us Spencer didn’t really need ACLs, so getting surgery was clearly just a duck. He thought he’d take a chance with Ramos et al once Suriano left, but we know that just ended up with him counting the lights, so we’re left to only imagine how badly it would have gone for him if he has to wrestle Suriano.
