Midlands Discussion Thread

Am I the only one who finds this strange? Did Teasdale think Midlands was a joke, or expect that he would just breeze though? Or am I just not "Twitter-literate"?
I know these things are acceptable now but I just can't get out of my old school way of thinking in that athletes shouldn't be tweeting things DURING competion. Please don't kill me guys. Its just my opinion that athletes should wait till after all is said and done if at all..

I'd have no problem with such a policy.

I love the last match for NBrands. Opened it up at the end.

At times he wrestles on his feet at the upper weights like a light guy. I dont know where he settles out with his weight but he will make an ncaa finals if not multiple.

Battles w AB could be epic

Applies a lot of pressure with his face. In neutral, to initiate tie-ups, from which he deftly drops to either either leg, from which he finished a lot on go behinds. On top, on the back of the head. Didn't see any turn attempts on top, including totally ignoring an arm the Campbell kid gave him before finally conceding the 5th or 6th TD. Didn't get ridden much on bottom; in fact, turned bottom into a Reversal at one point, with pressure.

Really, my main takeaway was pressure. Dude wrestles with tons & tons of pressure.

Because of course he does.

I can't go that far.

Maybe if he ends up at 174 ... much less imposing after this year -- Labriola, Starocci ... not sure offhand who else has more than 1 year left, changes weight, incoming, etc.

Not happening at 184. Even if he beats out Assad -- 4 years of Brooks, Hidlay, and Montalvo. 3 years of Bolen, Darmstadt, DePrez, Embree, Bonaccorsi ...

For me, as I've mentioned previously, I like his fight and the story. However, I'm still skeptical he can withstand the rigors of the NCAA tournament while undersized. Even if he fills out next year, he'll still be a bit short for the weight.

I have to have some nice things on record about hawk wrestlers for when @wildlizard attacks me.

Hernandez isn’t exactly a slouch. Ask RBY

61 kg Challenge Tournament Final- Jaime Hernandez over Roman Bravo-Young 10-5

AB is a lot more talented than Nelson. Skill for skill, that's a mismatch. But that pace is a wild card against anybody, especially in Carver. If Nelson gets him, it's going to be there imo. I would be shocked if he has more overall success than AB this year.

This is Hernandez's 3rd year (RS SO). Heading into Midlands, he had 4 career wins over wrestlers with winning records in that season. One was a backup, and another was a shirting true freshman. None of his victims had qualified for NCAAs in their careers.

I was thinking of the godfather movie when the don tells Sonny never to say what he thinks outside the family lmfao.

And.....Desanto's quarter ends with him acting like a tool, and Brands yelling at the Penn coaching staff. Some things just won't change.

Werent you counting on him being the 125 of the future for you guys and it has left a huge hole in your lineup?

The reports of development for GT were greatly exaggerated it looks like.

No, that was Suriano. Teasdale was Plan B. Howard is the new Plan A.

Idk I think that's a stretch. He didn't do anything dirty. The match got stopped one time because Ferrante gave him a big club. I don't think either guy had a problem with it.

His development must have been fine, according to insiders he rolled in and spanked everyone in the hawk room. He must have regressed or started hating wrestling or something.

Guess you didn't see Desanto with his finger in the Penn coaches faces? No stretch, Desanto was being Desanto.
