Besides being a 2x National Champ in wrestling, I believe Jack Cuvo was a 2x D2 AA in Cross Country.

He was a hurdles sprinter in HS.. Kids a freak and built just slightly smaller than his dad.
i watched a doc on Sorenson from Iowa and he ran Cross Country for his high school as well. Im not sure how competetive he was, but As good as a wrestler he was im sure he gave it everything he had
Chris Kwortnik and Jack Cuvo are the guys I really remember (besides Kolat later) when I was following the sport in high school...Re: Jack Cuvo ...
...I remember when Jack attended East Stroudsburg I went up to watch the East Stroudsburg Open
Tournament where Jack was wrestling...
... between sessions he went out and ran in a cross country meet and then came back and won the tournament!...
Horse around college kids? Spencer Lee has won every World Championship he has entered, those guys need to prepare for HIM.Haha I thought you meant he did 300 push ups and ran a mile all in under 8 mins. I thought that was insane lol. But if we’re just talking an 8 minute mile by itself then no im assuming Michigan’s heavyweight can run a mile faster than that honestly. 300 push-ups (even half assed ones) without stopping is impressive.
The 345 pound power clean by a HW is meh tbh. I’ve seen a 160lb 17 year old kid do 350 and a 260lb college fullback do like 460 ,or something close, for reps.
Not even gonna start on the 200lb bench lol.
It blows my mind when Spencer Lee says he doesn’t really life weights. He just started doing a little I saw in a video. Why would you not? This is a guy with olympic gold aspirations and you’re not going to try and be as strong as you can. Plus obviously lifting comes with other benefits than just strength. More size, quickness, speed, explosiveness, stamina. I don’t get it. I guess what he’s doing is enough to horse around college kids but you think the rest of the world is just climbing ropes, doing push-ups, dips and that’s it? Lol. Maybe it’ll work for him, and I hope it does, but I definitely don’t understand.
sry for the long rambling post.
