If Ohio State gets in, it's a damn shame. A 31 one point loss at Iowa is not at all talked about enough, and our 39 point loss at Michigan was entirely overplayed, as we had a defense that was depleted. If Michigan is the reason we didn't make the final four, Iowa 100% has to be the reason the Buckeyes don't make it this year.

Also, nobody talks about 31-7 over #21 NW or Trace McSorley & Barkley making primetime statements in the literal heat of Iowa City.

I for one am damn proud of our Nits. It's been a hell of a ride so far with Franklin, and the future is very very bright.

Very valid points sir.

If tOSU gets in, at a minimum this "selection committee" needs to be called out for the hypocrisy of leaving us out last year.

They're going to try to argue that tOSU had more "quality wins" this season than we did last year.

Don’t forget the ass kicking at home by Oklahoma 31to 16

There's a big difference this year. Last year the argument was which BIG team and if two could go. Trying to get two in was somewhat risky as it could have watered down both. This year there is only one BIG team in the discussion so it's all or nothing and the BIG will argue every angle available.

OSU does have 2 top 10 wins this year, which is 1 more than PSU had last year.

As a college football fan and a PSU fan for 40 years I often would witness first hand how Joe Paterno and Penn State would need a near flawless season to get the nod for a championship. What I loved about Joe Paterno was that he campaigned hard for the University, team and his players. I think James Franklin is a top 5 head coach and I genuinely believe he will win a NC game here at Penn State, but the fundamental difference between Paterno and Franklin is that last year Paterno would have called out and criticized the B10, Washington University and the selection committee.

I hope Bama gets in over OSU but the question is whether Bama has sufficient quality wins relative to OSU. I think it's close. I think USC should be in conversation too.

Your comments about campaigning are wrong.

The laughable part to me about all this is that everyone (media included) focuses on last year, last year, last year. The committee doesn’t give an F about last year. They’re focused on what you did this year with the current roster. Past year’s performances are buried in the vault.

And how did that work out for him? Screwed more than any team in the country.

They should give an F about consistency though. The only way the system keeps any credibility is with some consistency and not changing the parameters every year to benefit one team.

Also, Michigan was a big favorite going into that game last year. Ohio State was favored by three TD and lost by 30+ points. Not sure I have ever seen that and it should keep them out of the final 4.
What they did last year has no bearing on the selection for this year nor should it. Each year stands alone - different players, injury situations, schedules, etc.

Correct but after the bowl games everyone was saying Penn State should've gotten in ahead of Washington. So that justifies putting Bama in ahead of Ohio this year. It could be a first, two teams from same conference (SEC). Just sayin'.

Not only that, but last year we did beat Ohio State head to head. Why did that not matter then (I ask rhetorically)?

For the 500,000th time...only matters for comparable teams. Same reason the Big Ten title didn't matter

I think franklin would say, don’t lose to Pitt on the road, or by 39 to Michigan and we’d be right where we want to be. Beat Michigan State this year and the same.

Franklin doesn’t make excuses, which I’ve grown to admire about him. He talks a lot, but I’ve learned that it’s straight up how he sees it. Paterno was a veteran at dealing with the media, but his vocal outbursts caused as much harm as it gained us.

The proof lies in the fact that when the media had the chance to butcher him, they pretty much downright killed him.

just win - success with honor - vic’try our slogan be

Alabama and Ohio State don’t hold any clout for their dominance in the past 5 Years?

I smell BS, college football is all about subjectivity and we love to say it’s not prevelant but it’s staring us right in the face every season.
