Who's to say the matchups at home would be any easier as opposed to playing Tennessee who I think is very beatable? We've seen how crazy this sport is and the idea to want to play more games because your first round matchup is favorable to me is just asinine. It's like hoping to play an easier opponent in any professional sports season rather than having a bye in the first round that's just nuts to me
its true, and you really get screwed if you go to ccg and lose.
Respectfully disagree.. just because you don't care about a potential Big ten championship, I would think most of the fan base does. I understand your point of view but again it's a math equation...do you want to win fewer games to contend for a national title or more? The answer is easy. And I don't think we will sniff a national title anyways so why not go to Indy with one game to win a conference championship. Why? What is the significance of a Big Ten title? Who cares--it just gets you a playoff spot which we have even if we lose to Maryland
This is old school mentality
The worst thing that can happen is playing in a CCG and losing--then you have an extra game and gained nothing from it.
So you say you just want to win it all but are so afraid of playing OSU again. Newsflash, PSU will have to win many tough games to win it all. Why? What is the significance of a Big Ten title? Who cares--it just gets you a playoff spot which we have even if we lose to Maryland

He wasn't even remotely open either. What the hell was that - he wasn't even past the marker.
Oh, I am so scared we must avoid OSU. A team that just lost at home to Michigan. A team we should have beat if we could score inside the 10.Just so I understand this--assuming we win, you believe that's going to give us the confidence to beat Ohio State in our first game
I think that's a reach
We can disagree--you don't think we're good enough to win a national title and if we're not then there's no point in winning the Big Ten. It's meaningless if you go one and out.Respectfully disagree.. just because you don't care about a potential Big ten championship, I would think most of the fan base does. Like Ohio State can't beat Michigan--we can't beat Day--just is what it isOh, I am so scared we must avoid OSU. A team that just lost at home to Michigan. A team we should have beat if we could score inside the 10.
If we win it's not a push because we get a bye week.. I mean yes the conference championship game counts as an extra game but so what? you win a conference championship which still means a ton to any college football fan before the playoffs even came around. There is no way at this point to even predict what teams will be playing who in the playoffs locations etc it's ridiculous to just think we know it by nowWe can disagree--you don't think we're good enough to win a national title and if we're not then there's no point in winning the Big Ten. I do want fewer games which is why I don't want to play in a CCG--even if we win that's a push and we still have to win 4
Lose and you have to win 4
The key to any playoff is the path and matchups.
No doubt.. our offensive line run blocking and overall running game schemes have just been terrible this year#53 again. Standing around. Is nick dawkins really this terrible all year?
You are acting like you have seen the final full bracket. I ill laugh win the Bg 10 winner has the easiest path to victory. We can disagree--you don't think we're good enough to win a national title and if we're not then there's no point in winning the Big Ten. It's not though because we had to win a game to get though so you're still winning a game that is the equivalent of a first round gameIf we win it's not a push because we get a bye week.. And when the Big Ten winner gets Ohio State/Notre Dame in the second round followed by the Big Ten runner up in the semis you'll say...You are acting like you have seen the final full bracket. I ill laugh win the Bg 10 winner has the easiest path to victory.
It's like a 1st round game with no pressure. Lose and we are still in the playoffs. Win and get a bye. Sounds like a great problem to have. It's not though because we had to win a game to get though so you're still winning a game that is the equivalent of a first round game
It is what it is at this point--hopefully we win this--it's a good problem to have
But there is pressure because if you lose then you're playing 5 post season games to win a titleIt's like a 1st round game with no pressure. Lose and we are still in the playoffs. Win and get a bye. Sounds like a great problem to have.
Listed as questionable for today.. which the pessimistic person in me would think we won't see him again this year.Sorry if I missed it bit where's Tre Wallace?
Just think how it would look with no Warren! This offense without Harrison Wallace is not good
It is not optimal how it is currently set up. I agree with you there. But there is pressure because if you lose then you're playing 5 post season games to win a title
I don't think everyone is grasping how bad of a concept CCGs are in this set up
In the Purdue box score weren't our two leading rushers beau and Warren before you get to any running backs? It's really been an underwhelming year with two supposed Blue Chip running backsAllar being our leading rusher with 8 yards in the first quarter isn't reassuring
Then we can go with thatIt is not optimal how it is currently set up. I agree with you there.
44 is the most valuable player on this offense.Just think how it would look with no Warren!
He is--by far--might be the most valuable offensive player in the country44 is the most valuable player on this offense.
absolutely correct, also these players are used to playing 13 games. Go to the ccg and lose and its 17 gamesBut there is pressure because if you lose then you're playing 5 post season games to win a title
