Here we go! Seymour is pretty stocky. He looks pretty strong. Tying up, Luke snaps, nothing & they're back to the tie up. Circling & then tying up & then breaking. Luke reaches for a leg, nothing. Circling & tying up & hand-fighting. Seymour shoots, nothing. Circling, snapping, hand-fighting & breaking. No committed shots yet, 1:30 left. Seymour working a 2 on 1, he shoots, nothing. Back near center, circling & tying up. Luke shoots, nothing. Back to tying up & circling, 45-sec left. Seymour coming forward. Luke drops in on a shot, but no luck. Back to circling, 30-sec left. Tying up again, snaps & hand-fighting & that's how it ends. 0-0

Period 2:
Luke takes down. Luke gets to his feet, turns & gets the escape in 5-sec, 1-0. Circling, Luke coming forward now, he shoots, nothing. Seymour shoots, no luck. Neither are getting in deep enough to score. Luke reaches for an ankle, but can't get it. Back to the tie up. Half shots by both wrestlers. Luke reaches for a leg, nothing & back to the tie up & hand-fighting, 30-sec left. Luke snaps & then they're back to the tie up. Stoppage for something, restart. Circling & that's how the period ends. 1-0 Luke

Period 3:
Seymour takes down, gets to his feet, but Luke grabs an ankle & hangs on as they go out of bounds, restart. Seymour still down, he gets to his feet & gets the escape, 1-1. Circling, Seymour shoots, but no luck. Back to tying up, hand-fighting & circling. Seymour shoots, gets a leg, Luke sprawls & Seymour is flat, stalemate, restart. Circling & tying up, Luke reaches for a leg, but Seymour blocks him off. Luke reaches again, but he's not close enough. Seymour gets in deep on a leg, but Luke fights him off, then turns & counters for the TD, 4-1. Wow! Great scrambling by Luke! And that's how it ends! 4-1 Luke

133- #8 Braeden Davis VS #1 Ryan Crookham

Period 1:
Here we go! Circling & head tapping & hand-fighting. Tying up, Crookham reaches for a leg, nothing. Davis pushing forward a little & it's a stoppage for something, restart. Davis drops in deep on a leg off the whistle, he's working, Crookham's knee bends & it's stopped for a PD, restart. Circling & tying up & breaking. Davis reaches for a leg, nothing. Crookham shoots, Davis tries to step over, Crookham re-counters & gets the TD, 3-0. Great scramble! Crookham riding with a tight waist, Davis gets to his feet, but the clock expires. 3-0 Crookham

Period 2:
Crookham takes down, gets to his feet, but Davis sucks him back to the mat. Crookham gets to his feet again & gets the escape, 4-0. Tying up, Davis coming forward a little, drops in deep on a leg & Crookham goes Gumby leg & it's stopped for potentially dangers again, restart. Circling, then tying up, then breaking. That's how it ends. 4-0 Crookham

Period 3:
Davis takes down. Crookham looking 2 on 1 tilt, but Davis bellies out of it. Davis sits out, turns, but Crookham stays with him. Davis sits out again & rolls back & gets the escape, 4-1. Circling, Davis pushing forward. Crookham backing up & not engaging. Crookham gets a stalling warning. Crookham on the edge. Davis shoots & there's a 2nd stalling on Crookham, point Davis, 4-2 & that's how it ends.

Period 1:
Circling, Beau looking 2 on 1 & they break. Bailey with a half shot, nothing. Circling, head tapping, tying up & snapping. Bailey looking 2 on 1 & they break. Stoppage for something, restart, 90-sec left. Circling, Bailey with a half shot, nothing & back to the tie up. Bailey looking 2 on 1 & they're pushing near the center, 1-min left. Stoppage again, restart. Beau gets in deep on a leg, Bailey is draped over, Beau coming up through the legs, gets to his feet & turns in & finishes off the TD, 3-0. Beau rides out the period. 3-0 Beau.

Period 2:
Beau takes down. Bailey throws in the legs. Beau gets to his feet, turns & gets the escape, 4-0. Circling, 90-sec left, more circling & tying up. Beau looking 2 on 1, snaps, but nothing. Bailey looking 2 on 1, but Beau is working the head & then breaks Bailey down & that's how it ends. 4-0 Beau.

Period 3:
Bailey takes down, gets to his feet, but Beau jacks him up & returns him to the mat. Beau riding & they go out of bounds, restart, 90-sec left. Bailey still down. Beau goes optional start, but then drops down on top of Bailey. Bailey is bellied out now. Beau with a tight waist. Bailey gets to his feet, but Beau stays with him & goes over 1-min RT, then brings Bailey back to the mat, 30-sec left. Stalling warning Beau, restart. Beau optional start again, but then drops in on a tight waist. Beau rides Bailey out, RT point Beau, 5-0

He twice was in deep on a single that got called for potentially dangerous and he almost got the counter TD by stepover. In 3rd, though, when he needed a TD to tie or win, there was no urgency or shots.
Yeah I think the thing to learn as much as anything is the mental part. Mostly, how many times in his life do you think guys have fought off his attempts so deftly, scored on them, and he still was in the match to win at the end?

Feels like these are the things the program has lapped the field in over the years. Getting taught by competition and learning something rather than turning away.
 
149- #2 Shayne Van Ness VS Matt Repos

Period 1:
Here we go! Circling, Van Ness coming forward, looking for an opening. Van Ness in stalk mode, slowly pushing forward. Van Ness drops in on a leg, but Repos fights out of it. Repos on the edge, Van Ness reaches for a leg, but they go out of bounds, restart, 90-sec left. Tying up, Van Ness reaches for a leg, but just misses. Van Ness working a seatbelt, Repos with a hard whizzer. Van Ness looking to come behind, hooks a leg & finishes the TD, 3-0. Van Ness gets Repos bellied out & is working a wrist, 20-sec left. Van Ness rides out the period. 3-0 Van Ness.

Period 2:
Blood time before the start of the 2nd, not sure which wrestler is bleeding. It's Van Ness & Dan is taping a headband on Van Ness. Van Ness takes down, gets to his feet, but Repos brings him back to the mat. Van Ness gets back to his feet, turns & gets the escape, 4-0, then is immediately back in on a shot & is looking cement job. He gets the TD, 7-0, but Repos rolls through to his belly, so no back points. Van Ness wrenching on Repos' arm now. Van Ness throws in a boot & is putting on a hard ride. Repos gets to his feet & Van Ness lets him go, 7-1. Van Ness snaps, shoots, keeps scrambling & spins behind for another TD, 10-1, then rides out the last 10-sec. 10-1 Van Ness.

Period 3:
Repos takes down, Van Ness breaks him down, then lets him come up & tries to catch him with a throw, but can't lock it up & Repos gets the escape, 10-2. Van Ness shoots, Repos stall warning, restart. Repos drops in deep on a leg, but Van Ness gets an ankle & breaks Repos down. Van Ness looking to spin behind, then he does for another TD, 13-2. 50-sec left. Van Ness lets him up, 13-3. Van Ness coming forward, working & they go out of bounds. Van Ness looking for more points, 16-sec left. Van Ness coming forward, shoots, gets an ankle pick for another TD just before the period ends, 17-3
