WTF! Lets stick up for our guy Cstar! Don't want to justify Washington being a jerk on this board!
Just calling a spade a spade. The twitter hyperbole plus cranking the bar at the end in what can easily be seen as intent to inflict pain isn’t going to get Carter the benefit. He should have just run the bar and decked Washington with 30 to go instead of running that bar high.

Cranking the bar? Come on. The ref didn’t call anything. Perfectly legal. Washington should have been stalled out and then he gets indignant? Ludicrous.

Not sure whether this deserves another thread or an add on to the one earlier this week about new stalling rules. But here goes.

There never needs to be new stalling rules if the rules are called correctly. Washington was the perfect example.

He rode circle late in the match with Zero…and blatantly zero….interest to return to the center. He often spent his time OUTSIDE the circle. The ref does not need history (what has been going on in the match to that point) to call this type of stalling. It’s a point in time call. If a wrestler does not re-enter the active mat they are called for stalling.

At one point CStar released Washington out of bounds and Washington just stood there, out of bounds. The refs response? Re-start in the center. Literally, by the rule, stalling.

Washington could have DQ’d out at least 2 times over “normal” and the ref failed.

The only new rule we need is punting refs who simply have no idea what the rules actually are.

Looked to me like Washington was the one doing the yapping and that after basically not even trying to wrestle Carter after the 1st period.
Maybe, not sure who started the yapping. But if the other guy starts it, no need to respond or escalate; take the Zain Retherford approach.

But totally agree about Washington not wanting to wrestle the last 3+ minutes.

It's a shame that it seems that Shunk has outgrown 125.

We have had some struggles there since Suriano but having guys like Meredith, Kuhn, Shunk, etc, sure looks good right now.
Maybe they should be giving Shunk the hard cut OSU style. If he can wrestle 33 he can wrestle 25 just ask John Smith.

iowa is the only school that if they score 3 points in the match they think they got a tech!!
They think that just because psu doesn’t pin or tech everyone they have a chance. When you’re entire horizon is corn soy beans and wheat

Nice win today, but Indiana just doesn't have the horses to compete with PSU.

Next weekend has us wrestling @ Rutgers, then home vs Maryland. Then comes, a week later, Clarion and Senior Day before the Big Ten's two weeks later. The gauntlet that was Michigan, Iowa and Ohio State are way in the rear view mirror, and it's about starting to peak four weeks from yesterday.

I said it before, the freshmen are no longer freshman, experience and improvement show they belong with the best. I'm excited to see the post-season for these guys. It's their first go, and we'll see how they handle both brutal tournaments. The mental game is the toughest, as they've proven hey have the physical skills.

If they didn’t break it up and Carter gets in a fight and gets suspended you would be happy with that?
LOL, nothing like that came close to happening. Washington immediately after the match got in Carter's face. No way anyone gets suspended there except the aggressor, which was Washington, although only AFTER the match. During the match his effort should have gotten him several more stall calls. He spent the last 90 seconds of the match out of bounds not even trying to wrestle.

Read his comment. He said he wished they didn’t break it up. That insinuate he wishes Carter would have done more to him. Nobody said that is what happened.
