Princeton Open

Berge will have Pippa (Princeton) for 3rd who beat Reddington 7-4 in the consis semis. Berge MD Reddington 16-7 in the QF

I think it's well-established that, minus video, your default setting is "concerned".

Yeah, dude. Sure. That's why I said, "probably not a concern"

Bet if you polled this board beforehand, 90% would have picked Berge in that semi match. That's expecting more. But again. Not worried. Takedowns were 2 to 1 and people who have eyes are liking what they see. Done having to defend myself for a nothing comment.

So, just to clarify, you're suggesting that the overall tone of your posts is not pessimistic?

Always on the attack this tournament and actually did a decent job riding despite not working towards getting turns. Left points on the board this tournament by allowing some TD's to be countered or stalemated. Only really got rode in his 1 loss.

Ke-Shawn Hayes with a nice win over Bannister. Though the score was close there at the end.

I am here. I can tell you there is a big physical difference you cant see with the green and red guys. Berge looked fine in that match. Other kid is solid. Again, needs to work on 3rd periods, bottom and strength which is typical.

Maybe I'm being dense, but can anyone explain the reference to "the red and green guys"?

ill put this here ..... but I am a huge Hawk fan this afternoon! HUGE! go hawks

Berge is a 149 right now or at least it seems that way. I posted above wondering how he was going to handle a full size 157 who is good. Not really physically ready for that. Berge is really good and next year he will either be at 149 or he will be a ton stronger.

BTW, there is a kid here named Patrick Brucki who defies belief physically at 18 or 19. Kid is a freshman at Princeton and already looks like a R12 guy. Needs a ton of work on bottom though.
Brucki is the younger brother of the CMU kid that beat Hall last year.

He looked like the Incredible Hulk as a freshman at Carl Sandburg HS just outside of Chicago. They have an incredible lifting program there that produces a lot Mr. Olympian body types. Probably have a tanning booth.

Oh. College football.

As I’ve stated before I’m a huge Berge fan. I believe he will win a national title before he is done. That being said there are going to be a few bumps in the road. Taking 3rd today in his first college tournament up a weight from where he should be is a pretty damn good result. And I know from experience that the biggest adjustment from hs to college is getting off bottom. It will come for him especially when you have zain and nolf as practice partners.

don't know about that Lemon... those high on your list (outside of D1 wrestling) are full of subjectivity and too much commercialism.

Anyone see Singletary beat Snyder 8-2(if the track is right)? Was Snyder not trying?

Campbell also dismantled an I. White ;)

Wasn't he [PJ Klee] at Stanford before?

I don't recall ever seeing him on the roster (or on campus). From what I remember, he transferred from Blair to Cardinal Newman (a HS in Santa Rosa, CA) before his senior year. I thought he was still at Army (pretty sure that's where he originally committed).

He was runner-up at the CA state tournament in 2014, losing to Paul Fox in the finals--who is at Stanford and AA'd last year.

Once upon a time there was a magic man who rode into State College on a magic unicorn. His first public appearance wearing a blue and white Penn State singlet and wrestling up a weight he suffered a physical rear end thumping at the hands of the Great Recruiters little brother. Very magically and without any coaching or guidance from any Penn State coach this magic man and his unicorn in about a months time closed the gap on the Great Recruiter's little brother. Restricted to only magic and with no coaching whatsoever the Magic Man eventually wrestled in 4 NCAA finals, won two titles and two Hodge Trophies as the best wrestler in the land and guided his team to 4 team championship titles.

Just guessing, but Berge is most likely going to be better than just fine.
