Kemerer was impressive

I agree that Nolf is ahead of Kemerer, but that was the best battle Nolf has had this season. Several of Nolf's shots would have been TDs against most other wrestlers. Kemerer was very good on defense. If I recall correctly, Kemerer only got in somewhat on 1 shot, and Nolf's sprawl and heavy hips ended that attempt.

Sorenson obviously very good wrestler but Zain looked a bit off to me...not necessarily because of Sorenson. Didn't look his normal self despite facing good wrestler.....just my opinion.

Nolf will eventually wear every guy down at 157 this year. It's just a matter of time. Fortunately for Kemmerer Nolf didn't break him until the last 30 seconds of the match, which at that point Nolf was pretty much taking him down at will.

Watching match with JB on the call tonight....re-watch tomorrow for elbow deeps and laces ups. Good stuff tonight.

I see Zac Brunson (Illini) defeated Myles Amine (Mich), 3-2. Everything is going Illini's way in the close matches.

Halftime Grades

Suriano - B+ I think he'll open up a little earlier next time and can close the gap.

Carpenter - B as expected

Jimmy - A I thought that was huge gut check for Jimmy - down at CHA and just takes it to him and beats him "iowa-style".

Zain - B+ great match by Sorensen - Zain was never able to get low on his ankles like he did in previous matches

Nolf B+ made adjustment in 2nd and 3rd to get to ankles and was able to finish quicker. KemDawg is tough in scramble situations and did seem to anticipate some Nolf funk that might have caught others not as familiar off guard.

Sorenson obviously very good wrestler but Zain looked a bit off to me...not necessarily because of Sorenson. Didn't look his normal self despite facing good wrestler.....just my opinion.

Sorenson looked quicker and fresher the whole match. I give Zain credit cause looked gassed.

At the end of the day fellas you gotta love the spirit of competition and the competetivness of the athletes...the sport and tonight is what wrestling needs.

Sorensen can be really good when he decides to take shots.

I was maybe more impressed that, up until the last 30 second OT period, Sorensen was able to get out repeatedly from bottom, and relatively quickly each time. That was a huge issue for Sorensen in previous matches with Retherford.

Beyers just said Mark Hall is expected to go tonight. Looks as though the shirt is off.

Right. We'll get access to the lockerroom, and tell the upperweights what to do.

smh
LOL....Just board talk Tom....lol..Hey i know Jason will tech Mike or major him next time...Mike was just trying to keep it close...He did the samething when i watched them at club....Jason was not happy....If Zain gets angles he can get takedowns. Not sure what he was thinking....I think he needed a real close match though..It will only help him.
